He did early in the season and is again lately. He scored 31 tonight going against Shaq and Amare - his 7th consecutive game scoring 20+. He has some very good fundamental low post moves and a very high release that is almost impossible to block. He had a bit of a mini-slump in the middle of the season where he was settling too much for face-up jump shots. Now that he's back to mixing up his low post game with his jump shot he's much more effective. But then, he's still just a second year player. So, he's still learning and will continue to get both better and more consistent.

With Oden at center next year instead of Joel Pryzbilla, Aldridge should get a lot more open looks with all the attention Oden will command in the low post.

As it is, Roy and Aldridge are the top two sophomores in the league. They are 1, 2 in EFF. Roy is the leading scorer and Aldridge is third. Aldridge isn't a great rebounder, but he leads all sophomores in both rebounding and blocked shots. If the 2006 draft was held today, I think most GMs would take Roy and Aldridge first and second. The order would depend on if you need a big man or a guard. Rudy Gay would probably be the third pick. Based purely on performance to date (a 7-foot jump shooter who can't even hit 39% of his shots and only pulls down 3.8 RPG), Bargnani would be lucky to be top 10. However, due to his size and "upside" some GM would probably take him in the 4 - 6 range.
