actually it's pretty common to have an nba team play 3 more games than the other. orlando has played 72 games while washington has played 69. chicago is at 69 as well. and milwaukee. and charlotte.

and it's more like.. it's likely two teams in the same conference will be above .667 winning record. look at th eastern conference, boston and detroit are both well over .667.

last year you have phoenix at .744 and dallas at .817.
the year before that you have dallas and san antonio each respectively at .732 and .768.
the year before that, both dallas and san antonio were above .667 as well... and in the east two teams were nearl .667 as well (miami/detroit).

and i don't get it, why would it be less common that the team that has played 3 more games than the other have 2 more wins and 1 more loss? if anything, that's what you should expect.. because they win 2/3 games.
