Clippers athletic trainer Jasen Powell described it as a moderate ankle sprain and said that Kaman would be out indefinitely.

“It’s sore and real tender right now,” Kaman said, following a Tuesday practice in which he was rendered merely a spectator. “It’s the worse ankle sprain I’ve had.”

Kaman did not accompany the team Tuesday afternoon, when the Clippers flew to Seattle for the start of a two-game road trip Wednesday against the Sonics and then Thursday against the Sacramento Kings.

“I’ll stay behind, get treatment, and then see how it feels,” Kaman said.
