The Lakers don't have the top record, the Celtics do. Also I don't think that the overall record should count much when the playoff teams in the West are seperated by only seven games. If the Lakers had won two games less would this really make that big of a difference ? Kobe doesn't have the best overall record, he is not the top scorer and he doesn't have the best allround stats out of those four candidates, yet you make it sound like he should be a lock to win. The race is too close to have a clear-cut choice.
