I agree with you here, too. The problem with that is how do you determine which years to use? Does a guy of Reggie Miller's ilk get penalized in average career PER because he played so many seasons after his prime ended? Maybe the key is to establish a certain number of years (like maybe 3 or 4) that each player had to play at a high level to be considered. Then, I could average the PER of those seasons together for each player to make the rankings. I guess that would be ideal, but the tournament's already in place now. Let's continue like it is, and each person can simply post which players would make their draft team before they post who they think would win. That seems to be working for now.
