Re: Anyone Watching The ESPN Outside The Lines On NBA Players and Money?
A pre-nup is not infallible people. If you have children the dynamics change quite a bit. Lionel Richie had a Pre-nup and he paid a lump sum of 20 million, plus $300K per month of child and spousal support to his 2nd wife (where he had the pre-nup). Because of Lionel's wealth, he practically has an unlimited revenue stream (his music is timeless and his royalties are in the billions now).
A pre-nup, combined with other personal wealth documents are the way to go, but the truth is, it's very hard to get a woman or man to sign 20 documents stating that all income will be separate during the duration of a marriage. If you're wealthy like that, it's better to be Jack Nicholson and knock up a bunch of a women and just pay child support under the table.
