Van Wert basketball standout Chris Morrow signed his letter of intent on Wednesday to play for West Liberty State College in West Virginia. Morrow, who plans to major in communications, said he likes the campus, which is situated (where else?) on a hill not too far from Wheeling, W.Va. Morrow said he was told he might start for the Hilltoppers, an NCAA Division II school, in his freshman year, but said he planned to just go and do his best. Also on hand for the letter signing was Morrow’s grandfather, legendary Kalida boys’ basketball coach **** Kortokrax, who said the occasion was special to him. “As a coach, I’ve had two families: my basketball family and my real family,” Kortokrax said. Noting that he has participated in a number of letter signings as a coach, Kortokrax said it was especially nice to be able to do so for a family member.
