Lmao at Phil Jackson's place on that ballot. Voters seem to pick and choose when they want to include "team success" as a factor in these types of awards (MVP as well). Only Red Auerbach has been as successful as a coach and yet Phil has only one COY to show for it. Sure, people will say that he has Kobe and Gasol and Co. but the last two years he had Kobe, Odom (who is wildly inconsistent) and a bunch of crap (Smush, Kwame anyone?) and still managed to make the playoffs with a solid record in a very competitive West. I'll bet he wasn't even on the ballot the last two years and yet people are crying foul that Maurice Cheeks didn't win COY. The Sixers didn't even have a winning record in a pathetic conference but Cheeks is the COY? I'm not trying to bash Cheeks here but I think that Phil constantly gets overlooked for this award. Oh well, I guess he'll gladly take the hardware that counts.
