I don't think that they would have done much better with Marion though. His desire to be more "appreciated" (because apparently millions and millions of dollars, and playing for a top team don't mean anything if you're not the team's #1 option) had already destroyed their chemistry, and the rest of the teams in the West had caught up with them. The deal they should have made was Stoudamire for Garnett during the summer, which had let them still run, and brought the sort of defensive toughness they
desperately need.
