I'm sorry you can't see your own assumptions and biases. I know it's often difficult, but studying First Principles is often the best way to figure out your own personal philosophy.

I'm all for equal rights, regardless of the criteria. However, I want those rights to be equal. Your concern with only one sex shows your own personal bias. If you limited it to children, I wouldn't have brought it up. However, it's clear you think only young girls need protection, not young boys.

Furthermore, your belief that an outside entity needs to intervene shows that you believe that individuals are not capable of taking care of their own problems and need a lifetime nanny. It's a legitimate point of view--one that Western Europe embraces--but it's a bias nevertheless. My own bias is that people need to learn to be responsible for their own lives. If they fail, sometimes that has to be a hard fall.
