I'd say it'd be almost a sure thing, save for the connection with Fernandez. It's not so much that I think the Blazers would keep Rodriguez are a favor to Fernandez so much as that they might see enough off the court value to give him a bit more time. And, while I don't know this, I suspect they could trade Rodriguez mid-year (or cut him) and bring Koponen up (depending on how Koponen's contract is structured).
