It is the mental side of the game that TJ has to improve most. Watching Chris Paul dominate, and play intelligently at speed, is showing me just how flawed TJ is right now.
Paul takes controlled shots. His layups and jumpers look solid and textbook for the most part. Unlike TJ. When I said this about Calderon and TJ somebody called TJ uber talented for taking tougher shots and still making some. I call that stupid basketball. Just like VC who took bad shots when he had all the talent in the world to create good shots, but just didn't bother. If you are good you make the game look easier, not harder.
With TJ it isn't about effort, its intelligence or instincts that he is lacking.
Plus CP3 is a stronger body type than TJ.
Calderon is definitely making his point clear though. He wants to start and he wants to win. He didn't like the culture of the locker room that seemed to accept poor performances late in the year. But he wants to accept the challenge of making Toronto a winner.
