Lie down flat on your back and shoot the ball up to your self.

Purchase a medicine ball 8-10 lbs and do the shooting motion with it.

Also, make sure that when you are under the hoop like the last poster said, that your arm fully extends to the ceiling after you flick your wrist. It is very telling under the hoop if your shot is a push or an actual shot. It should be one solid motion and you will be able to feel if you are pulling back in any way.

Also, it's not about ARM STRENGTH!!!

I call this the 90-10 rule.

90% of your shot is your lower body. 10% is arms and the "finish"
