Re: Batman is Bush
***spoilers***
So, in thinking back on Batman, there are only a couple scenes where 'torture' is employed in the movie The Dark Knight. Since that seems to be at least a large part of this argument that Bush/Batman are similar, let's take a closer look at them.
Batman drops the mobster off a building, breaking his legs in the process, to get information. What happens? The guy Batman 'tortured' didn't know anything.
Batman beats the **** out of the Joker to get information about where Dent and Rachel are. What happens? The Joker WANTS Batman to know, where Dent and Rachel are, so that Batman is forced to make a tough decision between which one to save. Unfortunately, the Joker gives Batman the OPPOSITE locations, so Batman is fooled into *nearly* saving Harvey Dent, despite the fact he SAID he was going to save Rachel.
End result of these is that Batman has tortured somebody and gotten either: no information or wrong information. True, that's similar to Bush policy.
To misquote Allen Iverson: And I mean it’s strange, it’s strange to me too. But we talkin’ about Batman, man. We not even talkin’ about life, real life, when it matters. We talkin’ about Batman.
