I guess you consider The New Yorker or CBS News a conservative blog that just makes up facts. Great stuff.
So, you were of college age before 1969? If you would have bothered to do any research whatsoever, you would have known how easy it was to find a girlfriend even if you went to a single-sex institution in the Northeast. The Seven Sisters practically arranged weekend buses to have their students find suitable mates. Talk to Yale alums of that era and you'll find plenty that met their wife in college. My guess is that rather you (ahem) decided not to apply to Yale after a discussion with their admissions committee.

Well I'm not that old, but...
1. Neither Yale nor Harvard is that tough academically, and like any other college you can inflate your GPA by selecting easier courses or professors.
2. Legacies get a free pass. Trust me, the grandson of Sen. Prescott Bush needn't be that bright to get into Yale. Harvard most likely admitted him due to family wealth and influence.
3. There was a local female college in New Haven (Albertus Magnus aka Albertus Mattress). You didn't even have to check a bus schedule.
