I think youre right about Rose being more shifty. When I watch Wall play he just blasts past everyone. His first step allows him to move in quick direct lines. Rose uses more lateral movement to get to where he's trying to go.
And while right now Wall might not be that strong or imposing physically doesn't mean he cant. Getting to the NBA usually does a lot for guys in terms of strength and weight as compared to college.
