ORLANDO - Orlando City Soccer Club is proud to announce their participation in the 2011 Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic as the only non-Major League Soccer invitee.
“It is an absolute honor to be included in this tournament,” said Steve Donner, Orlando City CEO. “This is a tremendous opportunity for Orlando City to bring our local fans top-level competition at a very affordable price. This is also a fantastic start for Orlando City’s relationship with the Walt Disney Company.”
In addition to Orlando City, three Major League Soccer teams make up this year’s line-up: Houston Dynamo, Toronto FC, and 2010 MLS Cup finalist FC Dallas. All three teams featured in last season’s edition of the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic.
The tournament will take place on Thursday, February 24, and Saturday, February 26. Each day will feature two matches for a single ticket. The first match kicks off at 6 p.m. followed by an 8 p.m. match. Both matches will be played at Hess Field at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
All four teams will play on both nights. The winners of the February 24 matches will play the championship match at 8 p.m. on February 26. The 6 p.m. match will feature the two losing sides from day one in a consolation game.
