KVBL 2019 Rookies (Draft Tuesday @ 4 PM)

Rookie Grades
Quote:
Scouting will work as follows:

- Teams may scout a total of fifteen players. An exception to this rule is that teams with three or more picks in the first 40 picks of the draft may scout twenty players.
- Internationals can't be scouted
- Teams may scout each player's ratings fifteen times. The way this works is that owners pick which rating categories (o-o/d-o/p-o/t-o/o-d/d-d/p-d/t-d/2ga/2g%/fta/fg%/3ga/3g%/orb/drb/ast/stl/to/blk) they want to scout, with the information they receive being a range in which the player's actual value for that rating falls. An individual rating may be scouted up to three times, with each time counting for one of the fifteen scouting opportunities and each scout leading to a smaller range of values in which the player's actual rating falls. Here's an example:

(What gets sent to me)
Player to scout #1: Joe Player
Ratings to scout: o-o (x2), d-o (x2), o-d (x2), d-d, t-d, 3ga (x3), blk (x2), 2ga, 2g%

(What you get back)
o-o: 5
d-o: 5
o-d: 7
d-d: 5-7
t-d: 6-8
3ga: 46
blk: 55-59
2ga: 30-44
2g%: 39-53

I ask that the PMs I receive for scouting have "Scouting: Seattle Supersonics" (with your team's city and name) in the subject so as to allow me to keep track of things better.

- Scouting two times for o-o/d-o/o-d/d-d/etc. will give you the actual value for that rating. For the specific stat category ratings (2ga/2g%/etc.), scouting two times will give you a range of 5 in which the actual rating value falls. Scouting three times will give you the actual rating.

Hopefully that was straightforward enough. Ask questions if you have to, I can answer them.

Owners can (but do not need to) make a "big board" for their team that ranks anywhere from 2 to 60 players. This way, if you are not present when draft picks are being made, I can make a pick for you based on your existing rankings. If a big board is not in place, I will look at who the highest rated player still available is (from the top down on the grades spreadsheet - internationals are autopicked last) and select that player for the team. Big boards should be PMed to my inbox when completed, just as scouting lists should be.
I'll remind you to pay attention to how many scouting points get you what - I try to get back to you if I see something wrong, but I make no promises that I'll do so if I'm in a hurry/swamped with scouting.

I don't always read PMs right away, so if you have a question or something pressing that you're including with your scouting you should make a note of it in the PM title. The following teams can't scout this draft class due to being over the "hard cap" this season:

Quote:
Boston
Cleveland
Milwaukee
Phoenix
