Re: Nimreitz's Wisconsin Basketball Thoughts
This is my 10,000th post and I don't think it should be in any other thread. Leuer is awesome, Nankivil shoulda redshirted, Wilson is going to be really good, Taylor is the most pure Bo Ryan point guard that's ever been at Wisconsin, Bohannon is starting to play how we knew he could when he arrived on campus (only 3.5 years late), Trevon.... see the sig, and JP Tokoto PLEASE COME TO THE STATE UNIVERSITY!!!

Re: Nimreitz's Wisconsin Basketball Thoughts
Just beat Northwestern, but the zone gave us problems again. This team just won't get it done in the Tournament I'm afraid. They can be completely taken out of their rhythm by zone defense.
My thought from this game is that Tim Jarmusz really should not be on the court. The guy obviously offers no offense and is supposedly a defensive specialist, but in the last handful of games he looks like a matador out there. Bo must be kidding himself if he thinks TJ offers the best defense at the 3/4 position. Ryan Evans is longer, quicker, more athletic, and frankly I think he goes after it harder. Yeah he's younger, but man... this is a real waste. Shurna abused TJ today. |

Re: Nimreitz's Wisconsin Basketball Thoughts
Couldn't agree more about Jarmusz. I've been thinking it for awhile but felt I was alone there. He just doesn't bring much to the table.

Re: Nimreitz's Wisconsin Basketball Thoughts
The Wilson disrespect is baffling as well. I understand that he's the 4th guard, so he won't play as much as we'd like, but the kid can play. Emerging defense, good outside shot, puts the ball on the ground, and he can ACTUALLY POST UP! For all the talk about the swing offense getting guards to post up, it never actually happens. Hell, our big guys rarely post up their men.
And at the end of the game when Jarmusz was playing power forward... I mean come on dude. I'd take Bruesewicz over him... or... you know... NANKIVIL?!!??! ****ing seriously man. Jason Chappell Part Deux. Or should I say Andres Helgmink Part Trois. And we have another year of putting up with his lack of ANYTHING. |

Re: Nimreitz's Wisconsin Basketball Thoughts
4x on the TJ rant
The so called defensive specialist with a whole zero steals and blocks. Better yet, he played for 28 minutes and scored 1 point. Don't worry he was monster on the boards with those 4 rebounds. Nice to see Leuer play a lot better than he did at Minnesota. And that last block was great. And I'm going to have to agree with Nimreitz on the Badgers going nowhere in the tournament. Not only do we have problems with the zone, but we are terrible in the second half (makes me think of the Bucks).

Re: Nimreitz's Wisconsin Basketball Thoughts
I don't think it's time to panic. We should still end up in the 4-5 seed range where you usually don't have to play anyone outstanding the first couple of rounds. Could we then beat a Kentucky if we end up getting to play a one seed? Absolutely.
Let's not forget - last year we were 3-6 in conference at one point, on a six game losing streak and nobody thought we were going to make the tourney. We ended up making it in and knocking off a five seed. If you can beat Duke and Purdue, you can play with anyone. It's not time to give up on the season.

Re: Nimreitz's Wisconsin Basketball Thoughts
Great game by the Badgers to get a bit of revenge against Illinois. I'm so happy Leuer is back.

Re: Nimreitz's Wisconsin Basketball Thoughts
Well, we beat Maryland on a neutral court, and while we haven't beat anyone that good on the road, we nearly won @ Purdue and have crushed some decent teams on the road.

Re: Nimreitz's Wisconsin Basketball Thoughts
Josh Gasser with 21 points tonight. I know it's just Prairie View A&M, but this has me pretty intrigued. I assumed he was going to be a mediocre recruiting regret like Tim Jarmusz, but maybe not. I don't know, I'm hopeful.

^ I'm hopeful as well.
Beastly game by Leuer. Again it is Prairie View A&M, but still...
