Re: Albany/Duke on ESPN2 at 7
Ambrose going Jamaresque, brings the Danes within 10 and then Paulus comes down and decides..."HEY...only thing missing from my game is the outside shot...nah...I worked on it all summer---THREEEEEE!"
Jesus. Danes playing some of the best ball they have played all year....28-15 with 7 minutes to go. |

Ambrose a true frosh is playing a very good game in a tough arena. Needs more time to mature etc. but he will be fun to watch.

Re: Albany/Duke on ESPN2 at 7
The book on Ambrose is simple-- He will be Jamar (ask Tony about this kid) eventually...and is probably more athletic, however he needs to learn the college game.
Will has been VERY vocal lately about him learning how to trust his three frosh who are very good (Turley, Martin, Ambrose). 4-5 years ago all three would have started. It isnt necessary right now. Expect them to be playing alot more as the season progresses. |

Duke 42
Albany 21 4:14 to go in the first Albany playing tough but Duke is Duke and its tough to stop that. Last year Duke wasn't Duke this year they are no joke, I can see them going very far in the tourny |

Re: Albany/Duke on ESPN2 at 7
Len Elmore pointing out one of UA's major problems. Honestly...about 8 of the 25 point lead is because UA is letting Duke players attack the ball on passes...not meeting the ball.
This has been an "all year" problem for the Danes. I think we have played well tonight...but he makes a great point...and hopefully it is something good to take away for the rest of the year. |

Re: Albany/Duke on ESPN2 at 7
If I were WB I'd tell my team to look for the backdoor as Duke is overplaying the passing lanes, doesn't have a big shotblocker in the middle, and Albany's midrange game is looking good tonight, so they could pull up for a midrange shot.
I wonder what adjustments we'll see after the half. I'm sure Lillis will settle down. |

Re: Albany/Duke on ESPN2 at 7
About the only guy who can't stroke it is that 7'1 stiff who got abused in his two minutes. Duke can stroke it from everywhere. Albany's rotation D isnt awful...but Duke is just so damn good if they get an inch of space.

Re: Albany/Duke on ESPN2 at 7
I am not too worried about Lillis. He is guarding an All-American.
What I love is: -Iati actually doing some unreal ball handling-- Not really his forte. Way to step it up kid! -Connelly- He looks ACC athletic right now. Only big really flowing with the Duke bigs...and nice handle. He has 6 and 5 on an efficient 3-5 shooting. -Our three frosh- Martin is going to be our PG. He is pass first guy. This game is a HUGE step up for him...but this is his second career start. I like him alot. Ambrose...is absolutely on fire right now. He is going to be a future AE all-league guy. His last few games have been great. Al Turley- Rap on him was he was too nice. He has played with energy and strength tonight and the last time out vs. St. Francis. His rebound, ball to the ground, layup tonight was emphatic. WE NEED THIS! |
