The Amamzing Leaster and the Obvious

American Leaster shows his true GREEN colors
Quote:
...I still feel like the POY will be given to Lillis because he is a senior. And while Lillis' value to his team is undeniable (meaning they would be staving off UNH for 7th without him), he should be runner-up.....
While no one should doubt that Blakely is the "POY" the Leaster is a jerk in his assertion that -
Quote:
Lillis' value to his team is undeniable (meaning they would be staving off UNH for 7th without him)
- aren't UVM and UA currently tied in the standing and in head to head competition hasn't Lillis's UA team beaten Blakely's UVM team twice.

Rather than being smug about Lillis maybe the Leaster should just keep bashing Coach Brown and supporting the case for Blakely (he shouldn't need any support) which is a simple one Blakely has "AWESOME" Personal Stats and combine that with the assistance of another one of the AE's best players Mike Trimboli UVM is currently 13-13.

The truth is that UVM so far has underachieved much like the Hartford team which had Adeleke and Cook!!!!

Do not misread this Blakely should be a concensus "POY" no matter if UVM finishes 2nd or 6th.

Re: The Amamzing Leaster and the Obvious

Leaster showed his green colors when he said...."I'm expecting some more douchebagic gold to be spewed out from the mouth of Will Brown." Coach Brown is referred to as a "douche bag" very often by the "crowd" on the UVM message board. Other then an occasional recruiting update (the only reason I go there)....that piece of crap blog is useless.

Re: The Amamzing Leaster and the Obvious

thanks for the feedback.

You should read this part though : "Blakely's numbers and performances really take the cake, and Blakely's value to Vermont is equal to Albany's with Lillis."

What I meant by that was, without Blakely, UVM too is battling for 7th place with UNH.

As for the douchebagic comment. I'll stand by it. I'll stand by the fact that it is sophomoric too (I like sophomoric humor). I'm just saying, past actions by the individual we are talking about would make this assertion at least somewhat realistic in it actually happening.

I don't see how this shows my green colors either, or proves that I like green colors too. I'm just saying things others don't want to say here. At least that is what I feel. You guys can go ahead and be all sanctimonious and calling my blog crap, but I know you all are reading it everyday, and you aren't above me or holier than thou for trying to discredit stuff I blog about. We are all in the same boat here. I;ve got my opinions, you've got yours.

Talk about sophomoric!

As you I also am allowed my opinion.
It's a two way street.

Re: The Amamzing Leaster and the Obvious

I was the one who called the blog crap, and I stand behind that opinion. I readily admit that I check it out at times for the recruiting tidbits but thats it. The rest of it is pretty useless IMO. The latest post with the douche bag comments and the anti coach Brown rhetoric thats sounds like a carbon copy of crap posted on the UVM board only reinforce my opinion.

America Least, I agree with you. You are well within your right to dispense your opinion on all things concerning the America East conference as am I. Don't take it personal, when you chose to offer something for public consumption don't be offended if one or two of us don't like it. Telling me that I am acting all sanctimonious because I take issue with you preemptively accusing coach Brown of spewing "douchebagic gold" is interesting to say the least.

It's not useless if you are a UMaine fan and trying to find a new coach .

Re: The Amamzing Leaster and the Obvious

mainejeff - Good Point

I even contributed 1 name and that is Eric Eaton he would be a great get for Maine.

Speaking of coaches it's amazing how many people dispise the outspoken Brown, it seems the more he wins the more that hate him.

Overall, we at UA are glad  we have him and are glad we kept him.

He doesn't act stupid on the sideline.
He's still very young (36?).
He doesn't gloat when he wins - the most emotion he shows when he wins is a smile (a little jump at UVM last year). :kissmy:
He rarely get "T'd"
His teams seem well prepared and are gritty.

When the media ask questions - he answers them !!!! & that is usually very, very interesting

Re: The Amamzing Leaster and the Obvious

NUHF and I were talking about the Woodward situation and I tend to agree with him on this: WOODWARD AIN'T GOING ANYWHERE.

Why?

1. You pay sub 100k...even if it is Orono.
2.It is a tough place to win and make a name for yourself
3. Combine those two things...and at best you get a mid-level D1 assistant.
4. Hockey- Looks like Maine may be in a market for a new coach. If so, that coach is going to get $$$. If that coach gets dollars...then you would have to also up the ante for a hoop coach...probably to a minimum of 100k.

Remember, the average AE salary is probably around 200k right now. Is the State of Maine ready to buck up 350k in contracts and payouts (assuming you fire Woodward).

And Woodward won't be asking for a raise either. He will be happy to get paid.

Could next year be a year where there will actually be no new Head Coaches in the AE, or is there someone positioned to move?

Just because nobody is asked to leave doesn't mean nobody is leaving. The same two coaches that were high on everyone's interview list last year will likely be high on those lists this year, given their teams solid performances this season. An AE title combined with a competitive round 1 NCAA game puts Leibovitz or Monroe on the interview lists as well.

And don't be surprised to hear the Dennis Wolff to St. Johns talk again.

Multi-year contracts don't mean anything.
