As an aside, and this is more speaking to 2009 recruiting, but I feel like each team in the league is really becoming more competitive in terms of recruiting and the AE is getting better as a result.
UVM has offered their first player for 2010m PG Steve Rennard, a 2010 recruit from Metuchen, NJ (Marqus' hometown). Has a bunch of other interest that ranges from Ivy to Big East.
A post on a message board about a web site reporting that another web site is reporting...the Internet's a wonderful place...
Anyway, haven't really read much about this kid...sounds like he comes from a solid high school program. It'll be interesting to follow him through this SR year.
However, the most interesting article follows that one:
ESPN, Brennan Part Ways
Retired University of Vermont coach Tom Brennan has been cut loose by ESPN after four years as an in-studio college basketball color analyst.
Brennan said he had one year left on a three-year contract, but the sports network indicated it was not going to pick up his option. The Bristol, Conn., based network has been trimming staff and costs and Brennan said he believed he might get released.
I have no opinion in one direction or the other about this player, but I will say the 2010 UVM recruiting class will be the most important to Lonergan since his first year at the helm.

How well Apfeld at PF and Marsalis at PG pan out this year will help determine how important the 2010 class will be.
Update on Keegan Hyland, looks like UVM and Northeastern both have interest. It's reported that Boston University and Maine have already offered. UVM's whole coaching staff was at the event:
Also says his AAU teammate, Indiana Faithful (cool name), might be an AE level recruit as well.
There are going to be tremendous opportunities for playing time, scoring opportunities, and making an immediate impact at UVM for any PG or SG in the class of 2010.

Indiana Faithful, who is from Australia, plays his high school ball at Cheverus High in Portland, ME. He is coached by Bob Brown, formerly the head coach at Boston University.
Word on the street had been that Hyland has zero interest in schlepping up to Orono.
What else is new with southern Maine kids? It shouldn't be easier to convince the McLemores from San Diego to come to Orono than it is a kid from greater Portland.
Bangor/Orono, Durham or Burlington all the same? Advantage UVM.
Did I say that?
I'm saying that if you are from San Diego, and you are offered the choice of going to the state of Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont, what the hell is the difference?

Well if you like chicks with armpit hair and stinky dreds, Vermont is the clear leader
