6'6" 230lb swing man- rated 85 by ESPN. First signing for 2010 for UMBC
I already mentioned a couple of pages ago.
I think this might just be it for UMBC unless we lose more current players. With two seniors, Kevin Jones expected to transfer in, and Alex Jackson putting off going to college until next year, I wouldn't expect more recruiting noise for 2010 anytime soon.

must have missed it I just saw one where it said he was interested
What methodology does ESPN use to score? It seems pretty arbitrary to me. It also doesn't seem like they factor in who got the most interest when making the scores. For example, in 2009 they have Crenca- who had the most interest and offers (A10, CAA) of any UVM signee a 78 - but they gave Simeon Marsalis- who was the least recruited signee, an 83.
Also, Dominic Morris was supposedly more recruited than Travis Robinson yet Morris got an 85 and Robinson got an 89.
ESPN recruiting scores = Silly.

Further expanding the sillyness, how do you define "recruited?" Ultimately, ESPN (and Rivals, and ScoutHoops, and whomever) gets their information from somewhere...either player, player's coach, or on the sly from school reps (we all know they can't comment publicly, but they talk off the record). And as has been demonstrated here, everyone has their own definition of "interest". If Player A just gives you a list of every school he got a phone call from, while Player B winnows the list to just schools he's received offers from...you get two entirely different perspectives.
It'll be safer for us to just abide by this one simple rule: Every AE recruit is the best recruit you've ever seen...until the next one.

I like it!
These types of services are good at grading the elite talent...the kids they watch like a hawk and the types that go to elite programs. Everything else is a crap shoot. The best way to assess a recruit is take a look at the other confirmed offers. Of the three kids that just committed to BU only Morris had offers, no one offered the other 2. Morris was the prize Chambers was after. Granted, it's only the early period.

And if that's what he had to do to get Morris, I'm all for it! We have the scholarships to play with this year.
“We decided all together,” Gaskins told Alex Schwartz of Northstar Basketball. “Trav, Dom, and I are family. There is no question about that. It’s beyond basketball. It just so happens we’re brothers both on and off the court.”
Robinson told Schwartz: “I loved the team and the facilities, and most of all, BU is a great academic school and can attend with two of my current teammates who are pretty much my brothers.”
Morris, who averaged 12 points and eight rebounds last year, was being recruited by Siena, Providence, Penn State and La Salle. Robinson averaged 12.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.0 blocks per game and also considered Robert Morris. Gaskins considered Harvard, according to Schwartz.

Not sure how "interest" is properly defined because interest can mean a lot of things, but with all the recruiting sites and blogs, if each site reports a player received an offer or interest from the same place, I have no reason to believe that it would be BS. I've been reading the NERR site for a while now and they seem to be pretty close to on point with who they list as being interested in a kid and where the kid actually does end up.
Besides, If a player/parent/ "handler"or HS/Prep/AAU coach is going to embellish a kid's recruiting in order to try and drive up their demand (which I know is done but ultimately I think is rather pointless, because coaches know when they see talent and aren't the ones that buy into hype), they aren't going to use A10 and CAA schools to do that-why not say Kansas or Kentucky or UNC is interested?. If they are going to embellish, then embellish. I don't think claiming URI or Siena is interested is going to elevate a kid into the stratosphere.
Just want to add, things are becoming extremely transparent these days with Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Go on to Northfield Mount Hermon Basketball's Facebook page and there are pictures of every coach that has visited the gym. So when I read an article that Georgia Tech is interested in Laurent Rivard, read a tweet that says Paul Hewitt is in the gym visiting, then see a picture of him in the NMH gym ( I know it's their gym because I have played in it), then read that Rivard is on an official visit, I don't need too much more convincing then that:
