Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread

So far so good for the conference on transfers.

Clarke, Baker, Piotrowski, Thomas, and McKeaney.

Of course I saw McKeaney get some minutes as a Vermont fan, but I don't even remember ever seeing any of those other guys play.

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread

Goodman confirming that Gerard Coleman, Bilal Dixon, and Ron Giplaye are all transferring.

With Kris Dunn and Ricardo Ledo coming in, Coleman and Dixon would simply lose a bunch of minutes.

Also, supposedly Smotrycz and Carson Desrosiers were visiting Providence this week.

Practices last year were AWESOME with him and Griffin on the 2nd team... they just absolutely out-hustled and beat the bejesus out of the first team every night... it wasn't so much a basketball game as it was Rugby.

I don't doubt it.

I'd take both of those kids on my team everyday of the week (of course they might not get huge roles- but I'd want them there)

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread

Not surprised at all by the two BU transfers. It's simple -- neither figured to get much if any minutes in the future.

Still, Mike Terry was an absolute scrapper and that will be missed. Glad he was here and wish him all the best. Same with Matt P.

Hopefully they can land a couple of transfers now!

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread

Apparently Matt Humprey is graduating and transferring from BC. He started his career at Oregon. Not sure why he's transferring or what level he's looking to play at, but could be an interesting addition.

He's 6'5 and listed as a guard but could play the 3 in the AE easy.

Hope you're not suggesting he go to UVM after putting my opinions down about adding a different guard for 2 1/2 pages in another thread

Humphrey is another 1 year eligible transfer

Sorry to see him go but Randy's decision-making for playing time is reason enough to transfer.

Glad Ryan Cook got the scholarship. He earned it.

But it adds another senior to next year's team and another recruit coming in for 2013 ... Neller, Satchell, and Cook ...

I realize kids transfer but it sucks that we're not keeping them around long enough to find out what they can do.

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread

Jones said that the Terry transfer was largely due to a sick relative back home, but while I don't doubt that, playing time certainly had to be a major factor:

He's a SG but his percentages would suggest otherwise- maybe he'd be more effective as a 3 in the AE.

Would be a nice signing for BU potentially. He's from Chicago though, so who knows where he wants to play.

For UVM, I tend to not be in favor of the 1-year transfers.

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread

Quick mention of Keegan Hyland in this blog post; does this kid ever actually play ball on the college level?

http://blog.ctnews.com/paxton/2012/0...ags-next-year/

Also saw this morning that Sterling Gibbs (younger brother of Ashton Gibbs) is transferring from Texas after a non-descript Freshman year. He originally was a Maryland verbal, but then changed to Texas. Another young man who chose the league/school name and not the "fit". No doubt he will come back "closer to home", probably a level down as well.....more to come no doubt!
