Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread
It's fun to speculate but my sense is that Kopriva will not be visiting Burlington anytime soon. Without a doubt he would get significantly more playing time in Burlington than he is in Washington but I get the sense this kid is really about the academics and GW is a really good school. They also have an excellent medical school and are located in a metropolitan area with tons of opportunities.
He may regret his decision from a basketball perspective but I doubt he regrets his decision academically or geographically. That is no knock on UVM, it's just GW has a lot to offer students as well. |

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread
Yeah, it's probably close to a 0 percent chance of happening, it's just too bad he's a bench player on a team that's not even very good.

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread
GW is on a three game win streak and is now 4-2 in the A-10. They pounded Charlotte tonight and also beat UMASS in Amherst and Rhode Island as well. At the moment Lonergan is enjoying some success.

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread
Yep, saw that. Happy for him. Once Hobbs' players are no longer there (who are not very good at all), GW will be just fine. Lonergan is already starting all his own players, similar to when he took over at UVM after his first season.

Boot on his ankle. Don't know what the specifics of the injury are. Can't even remember what ankle it was. But it's just unbelievable to see all the places he's had his basketball passport stamped, without so much as putting on a uniform (does anyone remember...I know he never played at Gonzaga, but did he even dress?). I hope he's doing well in school. And I hope he does get healthy some day, because it'd be great to finally actually see him play. But what a calamitous basketball life he's led. |

I'm somewhat curious as to the latest move; why spend an entire transfer year at Fairfield then just transfer to Bentley.

And yeah, the move out from Fairfield seems even stranger (even for him). I know they had a coaching change during that off-season, but it looks like he committed to Fairfield *after* they hired Sydney Johnson, so it's not like he was an Ed Cooley loyalist. I believe he was injured (surprise!) during last season. Maybe he has finally figured that with all his injuries, he's not a D-1 player anymore. Bizarre. |

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread
Bentley's season ended last night with a win over UMass-Lowell. Final season stat line for Keegan Hyland: 0 games played.
The wait for the great Keegan Hyland regular season college basketball debut continues. Three years and counting... |

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread
I didn't know where to put this, but thought that Patrick Chambers was sort of an outbound transfer..

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread
Mid-Season transfer list.....do not see any fits for UVM. But don't worry, this list is sure to grow....think last year there was 445 transfers:

Re: Outbound Transfers Catch-All Thread
Former UMBC guard Chauncey Gilliam's Akron Zips are having about as good a season as any mid-major out there at 24-5(save for the Zags, obviously).
Looks like Chauncey is playing a back-up role for them, getting about 14 mpg and averaging 5ppg. When he was at UMBC he struck me as the opposite of a "team first" guy- so wonder if he's been happy with his decision to transfer there and playing on a much better team but not getting as much playing time.
