A lot of Vermont turnovers come in half court sets so they don't lead to many fast breaks. Despite mediocre pg play on some nights Vermont is good at breaking the press.
OK, but are those turnovers travels/offensive fouls/passes out of bounds, or are they steals? BU has had some really active hands the past couple of games and knows how to turn those steals into transition opportunities, either on the fast break or by finding the open shooter spotted up on the secondary break if Vermont gets back.
Vermont does do a good job breaking the press, and although I won't be surprised if BU tries to press, I will be surprised if it's significantly more effective than the Terriers' regular halfcourt defensive sets. The halfcourt trap, on the other hand, has been forcing turnovers in bunches.
The turnovers work both ways. If BU gets some easy points in transition but gives them right back, the advantage is lost.
My guess for attendance: 1250
Outcome: It will be entirely dependent on what BU does in the first 5-10 minutes of the game. They have been able to overcome slow starts against some A East foes, but UVM is not (and will not be) one of those teams.
I agree. That has been the common thread in BU's conference losses - slow starts. We don't let teams back into the game once we have a lead - problem is, we find ourselves climbing back more often than not.
I think BU has to make a commitment to the defensive effort put forth in this game. If they go out there with the attitude that they are simply going to outscore Vermont they are going to get smoked.

This has been gone over ad nauseum here. Is it really that a big game when the Boston Celtics, Bruins play on the other side of town? Or when the National Champion Hockey team played last night at the Boston Garden?
I'm just trying to give you a little perspective outside of the AE bubble. I agree....I think it's a big game, but it really isn't for an average sports fan. That and there's whole hellava lot going on in the city that has nothing to do with sports.
Then there are alot of students from greater NYC and abroad who just don't care about sports as well. It is what is.
If you know that, and apparetnly everyone on the board except me knows that, why dont they play at Case. Also, what does being from the NY area have to do with being a sports fan? There are millions of sports fans in NY and i m pretty sure some are of college age.
