Vermont heads to Agganis Tuesday night to take on BU. Huge game for both teams, as a loss in this game pretty much all but ruins either school's chances of capturing the #1 seed for the AE tournament- at the very worst has each school on the far outside looking in.
Key for UVM is for EVERYONE to continue to play with intensity from start to finish for 40 minutes and keep defensive pressure on the BU guards, who when dialed can be quite dangerous. If shots aren't falling we can still do the job defensively and have our defense create offensive opportunities. It's also important for guys like Fjeld/Young/Accaoui to continue to step up their games offensively. Hopefully MoJo can find his shooting touch and Vier has a big game defensively, keeping pressure on their guards, and attacking the basket, in what could be his last visit to Boston.

I'll take over. Beanpot hangover will depress student turnout but a healthy dose of traveling Vermont fans will put them over 2000.
Attendance for BU-UVM games at Agganis:
08-09: 1569 (Wednesday night)
07-08: 3023 (Friday night -- was this a ticket giveaway?)
06-07 was at Case
05-06: 1500 (Sunday afternoon)
04-05: 5736 (Saturday afternoon -- first game at Agganis, BU attendance record).

Just some numbers to consider.
You're telling me the game against Michigan at Agganis didn't set the attendance record?
I'm going to say between 1500 and 1800 for attendance.
As for the game, probably another UVM win. I just don't think BU can beat UVM- not with this set of players anyway. You just match up poorly against some teams. Hope they prove me wrong though.
Being a NESN televised game it will keep even more people home in the Boston area. I'm hearing a good size Vermont crowd is heading to the game. It may feel like a " home" game for the Cats

I'll be there. UVM Alumni isn't organizing any pre-game event this year but an e-mail notice has gone out a couple times.
I imagine there will be a good amount of UVM alums in attendance, there always is. It's such a great rivalry and Agganis Arena is IMO truly a special place to watch a college basketball game.

I believe the game is on CSN- not NESN.

Either way, there's nobody who's a big enough BU fan to plan on watching on TV, but not a big enough fan to go to the game. I doubt TV will be a factor in the attendance.

I can't find the box score for that game on BU's website, but Michigan has a copy of the box score with the attendance listed as 4750. Either way, BU-UVM from 04-05 set the attendance record at the time.
A key for BU, I think, is going to be winning the "easy buckets" battle. BU's defense has been excellent the past couple of games, but Vermont can challenge a defense in ways UNH/Albany can't. The Terriers aren't going to be red-hot from the field for 40 minutes straight -- when the offense goes cold for a couple minutes, BU needs to find ways to get some easy points out of somewhere other than a halfcourt set. Vermont isn't exactly what I would call stingy with turnovers, so the opportunities will probably be there. It's up to BU to grab them.
This game should be closer at Agganis than it was at Patrick. I'll be surprised if there's a double-digit margin either way.
A lot of Vermont turnovers come in half court sets so they don't lead to many fast breaks. Despite mediocre pg play on some nights Vermont is good at breaking the press.
big game for both teams...gotta hold Holland and Lowe to lower point totals..i would say over 1800 people for this game...also anyone hear of Ben Crenca with a torn ACL?!?
My guess for attendance: 1250
Outcome: It will be entirely dependent on what BU does in the first 5-10 minutes of the game. They have been able to overcome slow starts against some A East foes, but UVM is not (and will not be) one of those teams.
