Marc Hsu suspended

What had been suspected is now confirmed...

The university's statement --

Quote:
After consultation with America East commissioner Patrick Nero, interim director of athletics Jim Norris has determined that assistant coach Marc Hsu will not be coaching in practice or games until further notice.
The idea that they consulted with the AE commissioner on this lends additional credence to the idea that there really is nobody in charge at Binghamton right now. DeFleur is a lame duck, Norris too.

The timing in the article and reports on this board (that Hsu did coach at New Hampshire the day after the report was released, but has been missing since) suggest that the "consultation" with Nero was a bit one-sided and went something along the lines of "Get that f-in guy off your bench you morons!"

I saw Mo dressed in a suit yesterday . . . thought maybe he was going to be a new assistant coach!

What is the thought on Coach Macon coming back for next year or will Bing really break all ties with the past and start over fresh!

I think Macon will be gone, unless he can pull off some huge upsets and make the championship...then it will be a tough choice.

With a new pres and new AD, I'm sure they'll want to start on their own terms.

Macon could run the table, win the AE tournament, then win 7 in a row to win the NCAA championship -- and he won't be the coach in Binghamton next year.

Wins and losses have nothing to do with the decision at this point.

Not watching the game, not yelling out instructions or making adjustments. He wasn't coaching. Might as well have been a spectator eating popcorn. During the last media timeout (I think it was the last media timeout, anyway), he wasn't even in the Binghamton huddle. Just kept sitting there at the end of the bench.

Broadus has shown he can't reform anything or anyone that needs reforming.

NUHF, typically how long will an assistant coach's contract be for?

All of the Binghamton assistants are on one-year contracts. Before everything happened, Don Anderson was told that his contract would not be renewed for 2010-11 -- ironically he is the only assistant left at this point...

While it is true macon sometimes looks like he doesnt have a pulse out there, its been that way all year, not just since the report came out. Idk if that s just his stlye, or he is resigned to the fact he isnt coming back. Although, last year, macon wasnt a yeller or screamer either. If he wanted to say something to a kid he would pull them to the side of the huddle and get his message across quietly. In the UMBC game yesterday he stood near the middle of the court during one of the tv timeouts, late in the 2nd, while the players and lone remaining assistant huddled. The game was out of hand by this time, but it is odd behavior for a head coach.

Re: Marc Hsu suspended

Proof positive that the Press & Sun-Bulletin interns/reporters are a JOKE! They can't do anything without Pete Thamel guiding them in his blog, and give them fodder to quote, so that the NY Times can then turn around and site a Press & Sun-Bulletin article the next day on a scandal. Marc Hsu hasn't been on the bench since the report, and it takes the post game press conference on a big win to start asking questions? He was suspended on the 12th and then to make it the headline of the entire paper, as if it's something new to add to the fire.

Binghamton is a hockey town, or at least it was during my years there, I for one can't believe Team USA's win wasn't top billing on the first page.
