The current set up we have its fine. I wouldn't mind just sticking with the eight member schools. Delaware would be nice though

Have you guys seen what is happening to the WAC? They have invited Utah Valley St and Chicago St from the Great West, to go along with new D-I's Seattle U, Bakersfield and Grand Canyon U.

Their lineup will look like this next year:
Cal-Bakersfield
Chicago St.
Grand Canyon
Idaho
New Mexico St.
Seattle
Utah Valley St.

MAAC Presidents have their next meeting on December 14th. Some media reporting that expansion is on the agenda.

The "Catholic 7" of the Big East met with the commish over the weekend...man, if they do decide to break away, all hell will literally break loose.

When things like this happen, I like checking the A-10's long running expansion thread on this board: http://www.basketballforum.com/atlan...alignment.html

They're the ones in the most danger of getting pulled apart first if the Big East dissolution happens. My biggest takeaway is that there seems to be a widespread overvaluation of Dayton's market power and the differentiation made between the Cincy & Dayton markets.

Not sure if it's true or not, but anyone else find it very strange that it's the first time the "Catholic 7" have met to address these concerns?

Seems like something they should have raised their hands on for a while now.

As has been mentioned, I'm sure they were willing to allow quite a bit of leeway given the potential TV revenue that could be split, esp if you still had Louisville, UConn, Cincy and were adding Memphis. However, now that you take away Louisville, add Tulane along with the other misfits to the league and the obvious desires of both Cincy & UConn to get the hell out of Dodge, it's really gotten to the point where it may make more sense to them to break apart than keep adding ridiculous schools with zero hoops history/ability.

This is also a new commish that I don't think has been around long. I would tend to believe that all schools have talked amongst each other on multiple occasions but it's now really coming to a head.

Katie bar the door if this does happen because there will be massive chaos across this country with conference affiliations.
