That said, I wouldn't trade winning the NIT for losing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. And I mean losing in the *actual* NCAA Tournament- not losing in the first four bull$shit game as the last two worst seeds. I would rather win the NIT than do that.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
your crazy saying you would rather lose first round ncaa than win the NIT. how many teams lose the first round ncaa's every year and how many win the NIT. IF UVM won just two games last year they would of beaten college of charleston and cleveland st. That is far more impressive than beating BU and whoever in the AE to make the tournament. There is a huge difference in making the tournament from a major conference or high mid major and making it from the AE where you will likely have a shytti seed. Just making the tournament isnt huge deal. Its nice but its nothing special. Winning a game is. Repeating is. When making ncaa tournament is the end all be all you know you are a non-factor in college hoops. I can see why it would be such a big deal for the teams that never done it.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
the only reason i made the comparison is because people make a big deal of winning the AE conference tournament and making the ncaa tournament. IF winning the AE conference is a big deal that certainly the NIT is a big deal. its a far better tourney.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
I just wanna pipe in one thing...I am not very familiar with the whole Corey Lowe situation, esp not like most of you. However, before we are all judge & jury about him being in the presence of an agent, do we know the ENTIRE circumstances surrounding it? Do we know what Corey & the other student-athletes knew about NCAA rules and how they pertained to interactions with agents?
How do any of you on here know for a fact that you wouldn't have been there? Maybe he was a friend of a friend...maybe it was told to Corey that someone could tell him what his likelihood of playing pro would be...I can't say without a shadow of a doubt that I wouldn't have been there as well. Anyway, unless you are one of the people involved in the situation, I think it's kind of tough make a steadfast decision about what happened. Again, this is coming from someone that really doesn't know much more than what is in this thread about the whole topic so maybe there is more things known for certain.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
This is pretty much the scenario that it happened under... and once again, their were other Terriers there as well. Everyone thought it was innocent, it broke no rules, but Corey got booted... because he was injured and therefore could no longer help the team on the court. The other players (who played SIGNIFICANT MINUTES the following game) were not booted... Unfair and poorly handled (if you're going to boot Corey, come straight out and say that it was YOUR decision to boot him, don't portray it as Corey making a conscious decision to leave the team)...

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
i guess a senior with corey's talent cant help a team with a motivational speech or his knowledge of the game or anything like that. you would think a senior not being able to play his last game would have some kind of ability to help his team from the bench. i could see this move hurting a team a lot. How did other BU players feel about him getting thrown under the bus. the trust with the coach is gone at that point. Players or coaches should never throw each other under the bus.
