To clarify - when Partin was selected I wasn't in total shock (people see a guy scoring a lot of points on a team near the top of the standings and their eyes light up), but I wouldn't have selected him. My general impression of Partin last year was a guy who can absolutely fill it up when his shot is working but doesn't offer much when he's not scoring. His A/TO is awful. He doesn't rebound at all. I thought his defense improved over the course of the year but he's not a top-flight defender on the wing. And he's not efficient. There's some value in a guy who can absorb volume, but that only goes so far. I know we look at these things differently... this is just how I see it.

If Partin is BU's go-to guy this year and that offensive rating stays below 100 (it was 97 last year), BU's not going to win the league. You can take that to the bank.

Good for you guys if you can make it to that many games. That's a heck of a travel schedule, even for people without jobs/school

StatSheet. KenPom has him even lower.

If I want to paint Partin in a more positive light I can take conference games only, in which case Partin's ORtg jumps to 104.5, but that's still only the 27th-best rating in the conference.

I do think he'll be more efficient this year, though. For someone who isn't the primary ballhandler, his turnover rate was sky-high last year - he led the entire AE in turnovers. That should come down, at least somewhat.

Thanks. The weekday stuff is (almost) all Sam, but I should be on the road every weekend except Thanksgiving (overseas) and Christmas.

Somewhat surprised that Logan Aronhalt had an ORat of 102.3 (17th in the AE) especially in light of some of the disparaging comments made by a certain UVM poster regarding his efficiency and how it relates to Bald 98.1(29th in the AE). Both were pretty high use players...

Laughing...that shouldn't surprise you at all. Certain UVM posters have absolutely no idea what they're talking about :-)

I have yet to understand why people even waste their time responding to "certain posters". It's not interesting or entertaining debate when one is so clueless and refuses to acknowledge when they are proven clearly wrong.

There's but a lot of talk about Konan...I've never seen him play, but there was also a lot of talk about Hazel coming into BU and Hazel was solid defensively for BU, but really wasn't a huge impact guy- at least not in the way Partin was.

How similar are the two players? Just curious, because again I've never seen Konan play and am hoping Far or someone from UNH can describe his game.

McLemore is called the "big-time shooter," and his combination of accuracy and volume is as good as you'll find in the league. He took ~50% more 3's than Bald did, and after a slow start to the year he hit 43% in conference play. I think the description is justified.

For the other guys, I wouldn't read their descriptions as implying any sort of hierarchy. If anything, I think the blurbs for Aronhalt and Partin try to balance their shooting ability against their tendency to run hot and cold.

But I know you're just pushing our buttons a little bit here

Nice write-up...except for one thing. I can GUARANTEE that Black will be on one of the All-conference teams...he's a top 2-4 PG in this conference with CDLR being the best. A 43% career three point shooter, last year 12ppg (46% fg)...I gotta say, I strongly disagree. In fact, he's more of a proven commodity than Suero is who'm no one has seen play yet let alone hype.

Come to think of it...mediocre writeup at least as it pertains to UA.

BTW, do you honestly feel anyone here (UA fans) is hyping Suero? I don't think many of us have said much of anything about him.
