Plus scorers/shooters like Justin Bailey, Mike DeRocckis,Matt Alosa, Andy Bedard, Tony Orciari...
Coach Brennan had a lot of old footage, but sadly, it all got destroyed in the flooding last year.

Bedard was the one guy that I watched a lot of - because he was one of my brother's favorite players when he was at BC, so we followed him after he went to Maine... He brought it every night - what a competitor.

I also saw a bit of Malik Rose, but while I've heard a lot of stories about the others, I didn't get to see them play, and I wish I had.

I grew up in Calvin Murphy's town. He was amazingly athletic and an incredible ball player. The craziest thing was he was even more amazing at baton twirling believe it or not. He was probably more well known for that skill in our area than his basketball skill.

Two other short guys in our conference who had some amazing ups. Charles Ford on Hartford who I was amazed watching him dunk and I don't know his official height but he looked like he was flying. The other was Chaz Carr. I watched him when he played at Manchester High School. He would just stand there flat footed and jump and dunk the ball. Guy must have had some serious vertical leap.

Charles was about 5'9"-5'10" and had a great dunk on a drive down the middle at Umass. Chaz was about the same height. The craziest thing was Carr alone looked like he had rockets in his shoes, but he looked like he couldn't get off the ground when him and Turner were in the gym together at BU - Matt just left him behind on his way to a different altitude.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread

Awojobi and Roberson were ridiculous shot blockers. Awojobi had crazy ups. Malik Rose was just a beast on the block, who was immovable, great hands, and soft shot. Vin Baker was definitely the most skilled player the league has seen. 6'10-6'11 bringing the ball up the court for Hartford. The guy packed gyms wherever he went. Benton was sick. Crazy range and very quick to the basket. Reggie Lewis was the smoothest player I've seen in the league. He didn't even look like he was trying and he toyed with people. The matchups of Speedy Claxton vs. Andy Bedard were classic. Mike DeRocckis was arguably the best shooter the league has seen.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread

FFTS, thank you for all the work you put into this. AE doesn't get much detailed coverage, so it's especially appreciated by this AE fan.

Tonight's the night when it all starts for real. I'm hoping for a big improvement over last year's AE OOC fiasco.
