No it was a legit question with a legit statement at the time. The statement is still true right now. The question is less of a question now. UVM hasnt been playing the best offensively but I really like what they are doing on defense right now besides rebounding.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread

As of Right now:

1. Albany
2. Stony Brook
3. Vermont
4. BU
5. Hartford
6. UNH
7. Maine
8. UMBC
9. Binghamton

I've been pretty impressed by SBU's offense this season. Albany and Stony Brook are by far playing the best based on results. BU and Hartford are really impressive as well. Vermont can very well get things together for conference play, we'll see.

One Bid wonder does a great job of rating the AE in the present - Even Diehard UVM fans (except for you) realize UVM hasn't been impressive recently (and they still won 2 of 3).

SBU deserves to be rated ahead of UVM right now (which doesn't really mean anything)!!

I'd rate BU ahead of UVM right now. I'm considering moving Hartford ahead as well.

BU is close, they probably have more firepower offensively but I still give the nod to us because of defense. UVM, SBU, and UNH are the only teams in the conference keeping opponents under 40% FG. BU is allowing opponents to shoot 45%.

I'm going to need to see Hartford actually beat us before I rank them ahead of us, and that hasn't happened since Kenny Adeleke was playing in 2005-06- so last 5 seasons. This year they certainly can get a W though, they are much improved and have a lot more talent than in the past.

I know UVM hasnt been playing their best right now. The last 4 games havent been pretty. Like you stated though they won 2 outta of their last 3 and they did it by defense. I do think their defense has been impressive. Everybody likes offense though and people focus their comments on it and overreact to it. I am fine with somebody thinking SB deserves to be rated ahead of UVM.

Right now I am not sold on any team taking the AE or being favorites. It's going to be a very interesting season.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread

Last season we had a stretch leading up to conference play where we lost 5 in a row and and went 2-7 during that stretch. We played just as bad then as we have been doing recently.

Not saying UVM will replicate last year, but not worried right now at all about where we're at. Pretty happy with 6-4, all things being equal. It's been ugly at times but there's been some real good moments as well.

Quinnipiac was decent defense. Dartmouth was less than stellar. They won cause Dartmouth is a terrible shooting team. They almost lost because they gave Dartmouth a ridiculous number of second chances.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread

Yeah, much like how I think we gifted Towson a victory, I think we were extremely lucky to have beaten Dartmouth. It balances out.

And Dartmouth is a team we should have beaten comfortably.

These comments are far from crazy. BU has been explosive on offense just can't seem to finish games. Hartford is showing that they are the real deal. I'm not ready to put Hartford over UVM or BU until I see them beat one of them but its far from crazy to think that they will.

It's the type of entitlement and overconfidence exhibited in the above post that earn teams losses like UVM got at UNH and at Binghamton last year.

I'm dead serious about BU. I'm not ready to say Hartford, but if UVM doesn't improve and Hartford shows more consistency, than yes. I watch more college basketball than you would seem to believe. I watch all the AE teams when I can. Believe what you would like. At this moment in time UVM is not better than a fourth place team. If their offense doesn't show improvement they could drop below Hartford. UVM can win the conference if they can get it together, but I haven't seen any signs of improvement in the last few games.

first of all it was a joke....there is no sense of entitlement, what there is is an opinion, I have mine you have yours. my opinion is that the reigning AE tourny champs are better then UofH and BU.
