[UVM Hoop Cat]

Well, we already know we're going to go farther in the AE tourney then BU is, so can cross them off our list of hurdles.

That said, it will be important to finish above them in the standings.

I'm just going to re-post this because it got buried about four pages ago in the UVM vs UVM argument about where UVM currently stands compared to the rest of the conference...

Here is our Power Rankings as of Monday, with our weekly updates of the Fab 5 (think of it as the first team all-conference if the season ended today), Frosh 5 (All-Rookie under the same scenario), Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, Game of the Week. Thoughts on each team.

Excellent blend of serious and funny in this post. Your second point is spot on. BU will be a good measuring stick for other teams, if nothing else this season

Just to make sure we stay on topic RE: UVM, spot on assessment of UVM in your write-up. Also, agree with taking O'Day off the Fab 5 freshmen- for now.

Once conference play begins, he will find his way back on that list.

Sam do you feel bad for misleading readers for "Stony Brook had the ball and a 4-on-2 fast break with 17.4 seconds remaining but head coach Steve Pikiell inexplicably called a timeout with the Seawolves pushing the ball." Considering it wasnt a 4-2 break it was at best a 4 -3 break. It also wasnt "inexplicable," they needed a score and Dave coley has a tendency to get out of control and dribble of his own knees out of bounds. Just like he did against st. francis, sacred heart and seton hall. You shouldnt try to make news and re-write history when the things that happened were good enough.

No, I've re-watched the game on TiVo to be sure, it was a 4-on-2 break. I've been plety critical of coley in the past, and in the half court, or on a normal change of possession, a timeout would have been the right call. However, in that situation, pushing the ball with numbers, an with coley playing in a zone, I don't think it was the right call. Furthermore, in pretty sure anty unbiased basketball mind would say, given how the possession played out after the timeout, that stony brook would have been much better suited to have let the fast break play out. Re write history and make news Ina nightly recap? Lol, um, no, I wrote it how I saw it.

Apparently ranking sbu first in our power rankings while singing the praises of 2 players in our "fab 5l squad -including a freshman who I've done nothing but rave about - isn't enough, I'm still pinto get stony brook...

1 second before the timeout and most likely when pikiell began asking for one it was a 4-3 with edwin trialing the play right about 3/4 court that is fact. letting the fast break playout is the opinion. which isnt so bad with the ball in tommy's hands.

Sorry, it wasn't meant to be. I know your stuff is well researched and reported, but you inject your opinion into the rankings by necessity. Specifically I was responding to the attack of your use of inexplicable. I just thought the "do you feel bad about misleading your readers" was annoyingly harsh

Keep doing the great job you do and thanks for keeping us updated on what's happening in the ENTIRE AE.
