Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
Correct. Your post made it sound like Ben Crenca or Troy Davine scored 25pts, not a kid who has scored in double figures numerous times throughout his career.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
You must only be talking about this season- look at his entire career starting with Marist.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
Warney is very good - but I dont think hands down the best post in the league. Fraser is a very legit post with a lot of very polished moves. I think Maine, in any kind of shape, gives SB matchup issues that make every game close. Warney has to pass the Fraser test before I will annoint him totally.

That said, Adeleke's offensive game was light years ahead of where Warney is now. Adeleke's jump hook/half hook was pretty much automatic and as you said, Adeleke had a very nice jumper. Not to mention, his footwork was way ahead. That being said, If Warney can add some offensive post skills to his game he should be a 20+/10 guy in this conference. BTW, looks like Adeleke just recently signed with the Springfield Armor of the D-League. Seems like a good player to catch up with.

Warney's upside and potential, is undeniably, enormous.

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
Rusin has been kind of overeager to perform in some of his games this season and that has hurt him. Trying too hard can be just as bad as not trying enough. He seems to have calmed down in the last few games, though. His jump shot is less rushed and more stable. When he has been on he has looked like the best player on the court. He certainly has the hops to score 25 a game and I hope he continues to.
The mental game is soooo important. |

He got engaged this past year which is why I believe he did not go back over to Europe. As for the Warney comparison, I agree Adeleke was light-years ahead of where he is, and was the best Big man I've seen in the AE not named Coppenrath in the last 15 years. But, he also was a fifth year senior and Warney is a frosh... I'm definitely not saying Warney will be, or even will likely be Adeleke, but that if he gets everything right I think that's what his ceiling is. |

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
nice write up on the Maine win. I think we are insinuating a little to much on the the fact that it was voelkel's fault that edwards went off. Voelkel obviously jaws all game with guys. now it may have been voelkel's defense that caused edwards to score but we dont know it was really his mouth that all of a sudden made edwards wake up.
If maine wins saturday do maine fans start giving woodward a break? |

And guess how many games he has won in the AEast Tournament...0. Yep, 0-8 in AEast Tourney games. That is downright embarassing and awful! A break? No friggin way...

Re: OBW Catch-All Thread
Our latest Power Rankings, Fab Five, Frosh Five... in which we've decided Maine is decidedly not a good team...
Matt and I agree on every spot in the rankings except 3 and 4... he beat me with a sack of door knobs and got his way. http://www.onebidwonders.com/2013/02...-rankings-v11/ For those not paying attention (and the one belligerent UMBC fan on here who - understandably - has been beaten into submission by the past 4 years atrocious basketball under coach Monroe) this years UMBC squad is night and day from the last four. Thomas, Greene and Zito have coached their asses off to get the team playing within a system and playing HARD every night. Last year a 13 point halftime deficit was a guaranteed 30 point loss, this year they come back and win the game... Frankly, this UMBC team has Division III level talent for the most part and they are competing, which is impressive. |
