Re: 2012 America East Recruiting Thread

Per recruit scoop, Binghamton signed Rayner Moquette.

Looks like a Fordham transfer...no idea what year/ when he's eligible:

Lamin Fulton might turn around and leave lol. Either way I don't know anything about this kid. He's not ranked on ESPN or rivals as far as I'm aware and i can't find a highlight tape. Very little stats to speak of on an A10 team who went 2-26 and 7-21. Now we have 2 Fordham Transfers if Brian Freeman is still coming.

Re: 2012 America East Recruiting Thread

Austin Carroll chose Rutgers over Harvard out of HS so he has the academics. I guess Penn is a school he's looking at and I'd suspect Princeton would be another.

If we can't land Carroll, I think that shuts the door on 2012 eligible-transfers and we're looking at players that are still unsigned in 2012 in July, getting a 2013 prep targets to reclassify to 2012 and play next season, or not signing anyone at all.

Option F: Somehow get a hardship waiver for Harold so he can play this year!

Yep, might be time for the ubiquitous "Undisclosed Family Matter" that of course everyone would also be "Unable to Comment on"

Re: 2012 America East Recruiting Thread

Or we have Option G: JUCO

Rumor has it that UVM is looking at Gabe Kindred. Played high school ball at Worcester Academy (with Ben Crenca I believe). Played at Loyola Chicago for two years (redshirted his freshman year) and went the JUCO route in Salt Lake City for 2 years. This only leaves him with 1 year of eligbility, right? I can't remember UVM going after a JUCO kid in the 10 years I've been following them, so I have no idea how the JUCO rules work. But I do know that we need bodies and he'd be available right away for at least 1 season.

Could help for a year, sure- but if the coaching staff isn't going hard after Austin Carroll then I'm not sure what they are doing. Unless he is set on going to an Ivy, we should have a real, real good shot.

Only JUCO player I think we've ever gotten is Ryan Driggers who was from somewhere in Oklahoma and that was a million years ago.

If we can't get Carroll, I'm at the "I don't care what we do" and wouldn't even mind if we just went into 2012-13 with what we have now.

Re: 2012 America East Recruiting Thread

I would think they'd at the very least try to recruit another walk-on. They have no leeway when it comes to foul trouble or injury.

Re: 2012 America East Recruiting Thread

Austin Carroll to American. Sounds like that's where he was leaning all along and not sure to what extent we made an effort, if we even reached out at all.

I have no ideas who we could be looking at right now aside from Gabe Kindred.

The one advantage now is that everyone is going to see minutes next season. There will be no players getting Santo/McKeaney time, aside from any walk-ons.

Re: 2012 America East Recruiting Thread

My math might be wrong, but if Kindred redshirted his freshman year at Loyola, it would seem like he should have two years left. If 2009-10was the first of two seasons at Loyola then he would have only had one season at SLCC. Of course it's all a mute point if he doesn't go to Vermont.

You would have to assume that he is heading to go play for Dad at Canisus. But would be a good get for any Aeast school.

Re: 2012 America East Recruiting Thread

A little OT but ESPN is running with a story that Cheir Ajou (Luol Deng's cousin) is going to Northwestern. He is 7'2. Was checking him out and found this video from when they played NMH. Guess who was guarding him, and who Ajou guarded during the game...thats right Ethan O'Day. He did a nice job on him, pretty solid for a guy who is 5-6 inches taller than him.

Video here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pgSk3OxOKo
