Bosi, here's a listing of current AAU member schools....if Albany gets into the AAU, they will be in really good company! To be honest, I was not aware that Stony Brook was in the AAU. I have some relatives in the education field, and they constantly tout the fact that Rutgers is in the AAU (they were pushing me to send my Son to the "local" State University).

BTW, my comment with the link was directed at SaltySBU who thinks UA is bitter and a second rate school compared to SBU. Salty, take a look at the projected research capabilities of UA in the coming years.

Why argue, both are good schools?

Not according to some...BTW, it's not arguing it's engaging in sometimes non-civil discourse.

I hear you......by the way, on another topic, I saw on Twitter earlier that Maine had Lucas Van Ness up today for an official visit. Can anyone confirm that?

I'm going to have to ask you (politely) to move this to the recruiting thread...here, we celebrate the greatness of UA. One of the flagship campuses of the SUNY system.

Grats on the nano construction. Maybe UA will get an electron microsope in that building that will allow you all to view your undersized epeens.

We have it on loan from SBU, although your school recently requested that we give it back. Unsure why but in light of this news you can have it back.

Re: OT: UAlbany - NANO

Kayleros is just flat out ridiculous.

I question why (maybe he has been asked and he declined) he has not been put in charge of UA as its President.

He is a big time businessman with an unlimited future with NANO. He can do whatever he pleases...and frankly, his 1.3mm is chump change compared to what he brings in.

This man is not just good for Albany...he is good for SUNY. He is the face of what leadership can do for this system.

Re: OT: UAlbany - NANO

Wow. I'm impressed. There's a whole lot going on at Nanotech. This is awesome. I read the article and now I'm daydreaming about Capital District being the next Silicon Valley. This is great stuff going on at Albany and has a lot of potential to redevelop that whole region.

From what I read Kayleros has a lot of vision. I'm glad he is getting the investment he needs to further develop the nanotech college at UA.

That would be Tech Valley, as they're promoting the Hudson Valley/Champlain corridor, from the IBM plant in Westchester to Plattsburgh.

A couple weeks old but I figure some of you guys might be interested to know that Stony Brook seems to be hopping on the nano bandwagon with the help of BNL.
