Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
Sorry, but anyone who turns down schools like those for South Dakota State is making a financially irresponsible decision.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
I wouldn't really go that far. There were many great players in the A10 last year. No one was far and away the best.

Nicholson was the only player from the A10 drafted in the 1st Rd. He was also the only player from the A10 drafted. He was also A10 POY. Nicholson was quite clearly....the best player in the A10.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
We have an offer out from this summer/spring to Dimitri Floras, a 6'0'' PG at Vermont Academy. He reclassified to 2014 so he may be looking to play as a high as he can. I know BC is involved, UMass, Siena, BU, Lehigh, and Manhattan.
Anyways, he'd be great for 2013 or 2014. He wears number 4 and his jump shot even looks like Four's- only difference is Floras is a true PG and floor general, which McGlynn was not. Check out the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGgQsBgRKyw

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
Love the game of Floras and I think we have an "ok" shot of getting him. I would like to see the coaching staff go after talent similar to that of Floras. Doesn't seem like we offer many high level players.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
The list that stays is a lot longer than the list that leaves. Seems to work for us. Roberson, Benton, Gaines, Taylor, TJ, Trimboli, Blakely, and Voelkel.
Trapani could of made that list. Four........ maybe. |

Now, if the "high level" players just means "good basketball players", well...don't we already do that, and isn't that already working? Quick, someone frame this debate. |

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
I think most of those players are great not just good atleast at the AE level. High level players to me are players who can play at a high major level. Just because a lot of coaches don't reallize this doesnt make the player any less high level IMO. I think the longest list is the high level players we offer that don't come here. Offering these players who could be playing at a higher level is a recipe for success. You only need a couple on your team.
Can't wait for the season to get started! |

Now I'm not saying to stop recruiting players that are more on level with the AEast, just saying a handful of long shots would be better then 1-2 guys each recruiting period. I DO however think the staff does a GREAT job at finding that diamond in the rough. Just my 2 cents.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
Here are players Becker has brought in since becoming head coach:
Rusin Kilpatrick O'Day Harold Pierson Blue Taggart Steidl I think this is a great mix of the type of players UVM should be going after. Some of those kids have a pretty big time profile, some don't. Additionally, You aren't going to sign every Chrabascz and Dukes- and ultimately, A great team isn't going to win championships with a team full of Four McGlynn's, and it's also not going to win championships with a team full of Clancy Rugg's either. You need a mix of both. Balance.

According to Recruit Scoop on Twitter, UNH gets their first '13 verbal, Daniel Jackson, a 6' PG from TX.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
He was on campus this weekend and had a great experience and gave his verbal this morning I would assume before he left for home in Texas. Chris Orozco did the same thing, came for his vist and the next day said he was going to be a Wildcats. We really needed a pg with this class and am excited to see us get one early. Interesting our 3rd player from TX since Herrion has been Coach.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
UNH gets another! Via a source, aka his own Twitter account, John Edwards 6'6" F from Brewster Academy just committed to UNH as well.
Sorry I didn't add a link, posting from my iPhone. Just use Google. His Twitter account is @JEdwards_14
