Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
espn list 6'3" PG Kiefer Douse Canada and 6'4" SF Daryl Frazier Brooklyn under considering for UVM. Neither of these players have offers or much interest according to ESPN ...... which doesnt say much. C Mohamed Bah also under our considering list is visiting fairfield for Midnight Madness. I forgot about him for our wishlist. I would like to see UVM get this guy. We could use another young big man to pair with O'day.

Bah would be huge-literally. That said, really don't know how much we're recruiting him/if the AE is a place he'd consider.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
NMH Basketball tweeted Skyler White is on an official visit to George Washington this weekend. Also Tweeted Coach Markwood was down there for an open gym recently.
I really like White because he's a big that can shoot, versatile and can play the 3 or the 4 in the AE- plus he's from NMH and knows how to play the game.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
I'm not a huge Skyler White fan. He is definitely too slow to play the 3. I think his lateral footspeed on d is slow for a four. I'd like to see UVM get somebody better but I do think he would make a good big to have off the bench. I dont see him as a starter for UVM at any point. I do think he would start on other AE teams as an upperclassmen. He would be a really nice luxury to have coming off the bench. I like him in that kind of role and as a team you need those types of players. Some people see this as a negative.
I like to think we can get a better big in 2014 that would start over him with O'day. I guess he would have a good chance to start his senior year when O'day graduates. |

I wonder if we get a recruit to walk on for 2013 knowing a scholly will open up for him in 2014. NOt an ideal situation for a recruit and I'm guessing the recruit wouldnt be of the highest caliber. Those other two players I mentioned didnt have much other interest and I wonder if the coaching staff has discussed this with any potential recruits. |

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
Don't forget that Ryan Pierson will be available next season. His freshmen year he made all conference or all rookie in the CAA. He's listed as 6'10 so I'm thinking we will have some depth at center for a couple years.

Pierson C, Apfeld PF-C, O'day PF-C, Rugg PF, Hector PF so a big man 2013 isn't necessary and they prolly won't play many minutes. Two of those guys will be seniors though and it will be good to get a young big man to have a year in college before he has to play significant minutes. |

I really like the depth we will have down low next year with or without a 2013 big man. O'day, Apfeld, Rugg, Pierson, and Hector |

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
I think its funny debating how tall a guy is and what people think he is. When I'm standing next to a guy that tall I def can't tell the difference between 6'9" and 6'10". It's all huge to me.

Brother of Wally and Henry Ellenson @RyanJamesMN: Binghamton was in to see Elwood Ellenson today in Rice Lake, WI. The head coach will be coming in soon as well. @RyanJamesMN: Elwood has also heard from Northeastern and Tulsa lately. The interest from Binghamton sounds strong.

Seriously though, he appears to have gotten very little recognition compared to his brothers, but the bloodline must be pretty strong. Seems to have some nice white boy hops like Storm Clonch. |
