Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread

UVM target Wayne Selden has chosen Kansas.

As an aside, ESPN is out of their minds ranking Selden #14. Kid is easily a Top 5 player in country. He's a monster.

Seriously though, he appears to have gotten very little recognition compared to his brothers, but the bloodline must be pretty strong. Seems to have some nice white boy hops like Storm Clonch.
Heard he is really quick and long, great up and down the floor. athletic kid for the new BU style of play. Skilled like his brothers but was too thin, now he's putting on weight. Could be a great get. Wonder how Dempsey knows. I think Magnus and Yosef are of the same mold, they have a huge upside with some work. Could be fun to watch such an athletic team.

America East Teams are out: Neumann-Goretti basketball player Johnnie Davis announced on Monday night that he has verbally committed to Towson.

The 6-foot-5 senior made an official visit to the Maryland school this weekend.

I wonder if we get a recruit to walk on for 2013 knowing a scholly will open up for him in 2014. NOt an ideal situation for a recruit and I'm guessing the recruit wouldnt be of the highest caliber. Those other two players I mentioned didnt have much other interest and I wonder if the coaching staff has discussed this with any potential recruits.
As expected, Bah to Drexel per Recruit Scoop.

Nice pick up for Drexel IMO

Per Recruit Scoop, Jeremiah Worthem, F from Philly, has chosen Robert Morris over Stony Brook, Wagner, and LIU.

Legit UVM target Devon Thomas committed to Missouri State this morning. Top guys are flying off the board...

I hear there's a big recruit on campus for UVM this weekend. Hopefully the tipoff is well attended and not lame...

Thomas was intriguing but very small and erratic looking shot. Also not a player that seems to fit our system either. Talented though, and very quick.

Sporting Vermont ‏@SportingVermont
RT @Tariq_NPH: Kiefer Douse, Canadian 2013 Guard (Lee Academy) will visit Vermont this weekend.

Just to add to my previous post. This is the recruit visiting UVM this weekend. Reading over a bunch of articles seems like he has offers from St. Bonaventure, Jacksonville, Arkansas State and Vermont with some interest from higher level programs. There are some youtube videos of Lee academy. He's a big PG from Ontario, listed from 6'1" to 6'3". He's a 3 star on Rivals.com. NERR has him at 17th overall in NE (one ahead of Devon Thomas.) Supposedly a pass first guard with a decent shot.

I was saying earlier ESPN had him on our considering list but there wasnt much info on him and it didnt seem like many schools were interested. That's what I get for listening to ESPN.

Yea looks like he is pretty highly rated and recruited and would be a good get. I like getting a PG in 2013 for sure with no young PG's on our roster. He has all the playing time he wants looking forward minus his freshmen year. Hopefully we land this guy.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread

IF Maine gets Chris Braley that would be very good for the league and Maine. I like John Edwards for UNH as well. AE needs to get these kind of players.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread

Douse seems pretty intriguing. I really like his size for a PG, and his style of play seems like it would fit better than some of the shorter, speed demon PGs I've seen us mentioned with.

Douse' recruitment is literally all over the map- much like him. He's from Ontario, played AAU in Houston, TX and goes to prep school up in Maine.

Hope he enjoys his visit this weekend. My parents said weather is supposed to be rainy and cold, hopefully that's not the case and it's a nice Vermont October day.

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread

Does anyone know if this is an official for Douse or an unofficial? I'm guessing official but given that his recruitment is all over the map and I haven't heard of him taking an unofficial previously, seems like he might be a spring signing and potentially could see if he can get some BCS offers at that time.
