Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
I played against Rochester in High School. That division is most likely the worst in the country and thats not an exageration. Good for him though, he'll need to it against some competition to proves he's legit.

If this kid Parrish has aspirations of playing anything higher than D3 in college (and if he doesnt get taller may not matter) then he needs to get out of Rochester yesterday.

Per Recruit Scoop Khalil Dukes updated his list:
Alex Kline @TheRecruitScoop Reply Retweet Favorite · Open Kahlil Dukes lists Quinnipiac, RMU, Rice, St. Bonaventure, Sacred Heart, St. Peter's, Princeton, Vermont, UCF, Lafayette & Stony Brook. Big thing will be seeing what that list looks like after July.

![]() I'm really interested to see how the 2013 class shapes up for Stony Brook. I think Pikiell was known as a recruiter when Fiore brought him in. We've started to see that the last couple years and hopefully it continues into 2013. |

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
Gatorade names top Vermont basketball player Junior Matt St. Amour.
Has anybody seen him play? Is he a DI talent, or just a good high school player that will go DII-III? He has some pretty nice numbers. St. Amour averaged 26.6 points, 12.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.7 steals per game. http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/article/20120322/SPORTS05/120322008/Gatorade-tabs-St-Amour-Vermont-s-top-boys-basketball-player?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Sports

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
I know Matt well. I'm a teacher at Missisquoi Valley High School where Matt plays. I had him as a student when he was a freshman and have followed his progress closely.
A couple observations: 1. The article lists him as 6'3. That's a bit generous I'd say a legit 6'2. 2. I do think he can play D1 but he would be primarily a spot up shooter. He's a strong kid but would giving away some athleticism at this level. 2. His freshmen and sophomore year he was surrounded by good players and he thrived. Missisquoi went to the state championship his freshmen year and won it his sophomore year at the DII level. 3. This year his supporting cast graduated, Missisquoi was moved up to DI, and Matt was forced to shoulder the load all season. We lost to Burlington in the first round of the playoffs. 4. I think he has the talent, mentality, and size to play D1 but he would really benefit from playing against tougher competition his senior season or even doing a prep year. 5. He will be an excellent recruit for whatever school gets his services for reasons other than just basketball. As has been pointed out he is a terrific student but he's also a really mature young man and will be a phenomenal teammate. 6. I hope UVM gives him serious consideration as we need to keep the local talent in the state to continue growing the local fan base. 7. He's visited Siena, Iona, UVM, and Lehigh |

Re: 2013 America East Recruiting Thread
I didn't see Joe live but he definitely faced tougher competition in high school. It helps when you're teammates with Tyrone Conley and Clancy Rugg. Going up against Pat Bergmann.
Size wise (not just height) I think they are very similar. Neither one of them is going to blow you away with athleticism but both play with a high basketball IQ. Matt is pretty crafty and can get to the rim and IIRC Joe had that ability too. I guess without knowing all the details of Joe's game I'd say they bring a similar skill set to the table. |
