Unfortunately his team lost by 3. Also, he did all that with only 19 mins playing time. I'm positive if they would have let him play more, he would have got it.

Nice article.

Gerald Green, former Celtic, got called up to the Nets on a 10-day contract. MVP in the D-League All-Star game probably helped. Clippers also recently called up Bobby Simmons, but he was a former NBA player that at one point was pretty good.

Marqus's team also won the shooting event in the skills competition also. Apparently Marqus hit the half-court shot:

According to the NBA D-League Futurecast Halftime Statistics, Marqus Blakely leads Sioux Falls with 12 points and 7 rebounds. SF is down something like 70-50 to the Bakersfield Jam. Can that be right? [checks] Apparently in the D League, yes. Seventy points by halftime.

I just don't see HOW the NBA doesn't work out. Marqus has improved tremendously since his days at UVM. The better competition he faces, the better he becomes. I expect him to be signed to a contract soon.

He's a 6-foot-5 power forward.

For example, look at Gerald Green... he's 6-foot-8 GUARD.

It's obvious why Marqus is having trouble breaking into the league - he's out of position.
