OT: Marqus Blakely 1/6 He owns it!
Marqus has 23 points (9-9 FG and 5-6 FT) in the first half tonight. "Technical Difficulies" have killed the video, but the play by play says it all - it's all Marqus! His biggest game so far in the NBA-DL.

Maybe we'll get something to look at in the 2nd half.

He finishes with 10-10 FG, 27 pts, and more importantly 3-3 on jumpers according to the play-by-play.

So Marqus got a raw deal because of the lockout and no Summer League and two-week NBA Training Camp- but it may balance out, since the NBA is playing an accelerated schedule a bunch of players have been getting injured- so it's possible Marqus way see a call-up:

I was looking at his stats the other day. He's averaging about 30 minutes and 15 points a game. Against the Tulsa 76er's he scored 17 and his team won by a point. Larry Owens formerly of the Tulsa 76ers just got called up last week. The Iowa Energy is also the number team in their conference.

I would not be shocked if his name was called for a 10 day contract. His stats are solid and he's playing on a winning team.

Blakely with 19pts and 7 boards for Iowa tonight. Had Nets' Jordan Williams on him a couple times and blew by him.

Blakely can score a lot more than he does- needs to look for his shot more and have some 30Pt nights and make some noise.

I watched some of last night's game online. Marqus has really developed his outside shot, it looks great and goes in! He also seems to be the only Iowa player who knows how to set a screen. Listening to the local announcers, it's obvious that he is one of the team's stars.

Now, if the Celtics would only give him a chance.....

He has done everything in his power to show the NBA that he deserves atleast a shot. Since graduating from UVM he has continued to put up great numbers EVERYWHERE that he has been. He has been thrown around all over the place and continued to improve his game.

At the very least he deserves a chance, why wouldn't he?

Based off what?? The fact that he's still not playing in the NBA. If he was talented enough to make it as an NBA regular, he'd be there. He's an undersized power forward. At his size, people are shooting guards in the NBA. He's not a perimeter player.

I don't dislike him. Ill always root for AE guys to make it, but don't kid yourselfs on what he can or cannot do.
