Re: Game Day 2/21

They just had a Segment on ESPN on the Bing win. One of the Commentators said he played lacrosse against Binghamton and got one of his teeth knocked out. One of the other Commentators said Vermont just got their teeth knocked out, and all three of them started laughing.

lol

I still think Vermont has a great chance to win this league. SBU even thought they have been playing better on the road, has a history of not playing good on the road. In hartford they are going to have to play a couple of road games to get the championship game.

Edit: Also I heard there might of been some NBA scouts checking out Mike Horn. Is this true?

Re: Game Day 2/21

Congrats to Binghamton. I've been critical of Macon for the simple reason that while they don't have good talent...they have some talent, and felt that he should have been able to coax a win from somebody, if not an upset, at least from one of the other weak teams on the schedule. Well, he didn't do it against one of the weak sisters, he did it against the top team in the conference. Well done coach, and great job to the players who have persevered through a very difficult season.

With all the injuries last year, and with SB getting healthy toward the end of the year.. no where CLOSE to a "bad" loss. Not blowing a 24 point lead in the 2nd half at home. I don't even think that was a worse loss than the one in Albany with Trimboli and Blakely.

Now that SB has clinched the NCAA bid and PoY awards can we start talking about next season now?

Don't get ahead of yourself. We still got to talk about the NCAA championship game SBU vs Missouri.

Re: Game Day 2/21

Thank God! What a game to drive to Binghamton for, my old roomie called me up, said you want to go up to Binghamton and surprise friends for Mardis Gras on the strip (his gf is a senior still at Bing). I decided to hit the game first, what a night. 2,500 fans on a Tuesday night for an 0-26 team on the season, losers of 27-straight. I was like ugh and Vermont, the team that had so often crushed our hearts, but tonight it was the faithfuls night! A big thank you from the basketball gods who've said stick with them, they're rebuilding the program right and tonight - upset win, avoid the dubious loss record!

It's only one win, but I'm so glad I witnessed it -- from the bottom there is no where to go but up! GO BING!!!!

Compare this:

and this:

I love Binghamton fans. They are very loyal to their team. being 0-26 and still getting over 2k in attedance means a lot

+1 Remarkable fans support! Definitely something my BU could learn a thing or two from...

Congrats, Binghamton!

So the Triangle + 2 is perfect to have the 2 going man on Dougher and Coley and the triangle packing the paint. Secondly, Hartford's normal 3 guard lineup would (and has) gotten MURDERED in the paint with Brenton at the 3 (Clayton Brother's trying to put a body on him? c'mon son).

I ask this, because as much as I love Gal and his constant energy and enthusiasm, I worry that - like Leibovitz before him - he is too rigid in his refusal to move away from his system when the circumstances dictate... and going 3 guards against SBU is just a recipe for disaster whenever their starters are in...
Brenton went two for two from 3 last night!

you are correct sir. The #1 seed losing to a bad 5 seed(without their best player, brenton) by 24 points is not a bad loss. IT IS A TERRIBLE LOSS!

Re: Game Day 2/21

i love seeing the vermont fans 180 degree change in direction from the SBU win and the bing loss! After the SBU win vermont basically thought they could walk on water. In reality Vermont hasnt played very well the past 2 conference games. Beat albany at albant by 3 and lost to bing. Vermont needs to wake up.

It is also nice to see the Bing posters come back out in public.

Re: Game Day 2/21

Unbelievable. Am I the only on that thinks Macon gets every drop of talent out of his players? If he gets a chance to build the program back up, they'll be competing for conference championships sooner than later. I'm going to make a very early and very bold prediction that Bing finishes above .500 next year.

Re: Game Day 2/21

Thanks for all the positive comments! That's why I go to all the games, you just never know.

I think a big key was holding that early lead. I think it's safe to say we held a lead in last night's game for more minutes than the first 26 games combined. It's a lot easier to focus when you're not constantly behind.

And Taylor Johnston - 33 minutes - nuff said.
