Re: 2012-13 OOC Schedules

Good question. I think it remains a 1-3 a year type a deal depending on the opponents in a given year. If we play UMASS or Harvard, I think we're more likely to see that there than a GW at this point. Probably one Patriot League game a year or something like that.

Hopefully we get to host a Patriot League championship game there someday. Pretty sure they just do higher seeds, which I greatly prefer to the annual Hartford thing.

Re: 2012-13 OOC Schedules

I didn't know where else to put this and I don't know if any AE schools play either school but Columbia beat Villanova tonight 75-57. I thought that was a typo when I first saw it.

WOW

Hartford's playing in the 2013 Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament. Should be a great event.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bask...ouisville-2013

UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- North Carolina and Louisville have agreed to play in the 2013 Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament.

The tournament is put on by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and has been played for the past two seasons at the Mohegan Sun arena in Connecticut, where it has failed to generate large crowds.

The Hall of Fame said Monday that next year's field also will include two teams from Connecticut -- Fairfield University and the University of Hartford -- which could help ticket sales.

The tournament also will include Richmond, Holy Cross, Hofstra, and Belmont.

Looks like they have 2 "majors" and then packed it with regional mid-majors. I don't think those are the 4 regional teams with the largest fanbase, but if this doesn't draw crowds I'm not sure what will.

Great event for Hartford.

AE has done pretty well in it two consecutive years- UVM beat Old Dominion and almost beat South Florida and Albany beat Washington this year.

Marist is beating Vanderbilt 38-14 with 13 min to play in second half on ESPNU.

Biazarro world. What happened to Vanderbilt, they look TERRIBLE.

Charleston just beat #24 Baylor in Texas 63-59. Looks like a good looking Charleston team coming to Patrick. They are 3-2, but have had a tough schedule with wins vs Towson, Baylor and BC and losses at Auburn and St. Johns

Yep, CofC is tough and will probably be second best team we face OOC.

Northeastern beat Belmont the other night to improve to 4-1

Re: 2012-13 OOC Schedules

* UVM & Maine's wins over Siena and Northeastern not looking as good as they initially did. Northeastern still a solid team but are around .500 now and Siena is looking like one of the worst teams in the country- which is somewhat surprising given they do have some talent on their team- especially a player like Anosike.

*SBU's win over Canisius is looking really good. Canisius is either 5-1 or 6-1 now.

*Harvard not going to have a great OOC record but they play one of the toughest schedule's for a mid I've seen. Still a great win, and Harvard and Princeton will most likely battle for Ivy League title.

Re: 2012-13 OOC Schedules

Ed Cooley decided to let Providence play at Brown and they got beat 69-68.

Congrats TJ Sorrentine! Brown got a big game from Tucker Halpern.

Re: 2012-13 OOC Schedules

Mt. Ida's season just finished, and one of their guards was at my lunchtime pick-up game today in Newton. We played on the same team.

It was funny talking to him about playing Stony Brook, he said at one point the score was 40-5.

Considering the final score was 93-57 Stony Brook, good for the Seawolves for managing to mount a 88-17 run in their comeback.

Oh wait...

Real nice kid. He actually was a student at BU before transferring to Mt. Ida to play basketball, so knew the America East quite well. I told him I went to Vermont and he asked "Do they still have the big kid about 6'6'' that looks like a linebacker?" Yep, Voelkel. Only a junior.

Great schedule to start the season!

Woodward must be totally against these types of events......would be nice to see Maine compete in one of these someday. Hopefully, I will live long enough to see it.
