The SMU game was a late add. Will be interesting to see Larry Brown at the Ryan Center. I have read that SMU may also play at Hofstra. Would think these games would be on the same trip. It is no coincidence that URI is in the Hall of Fame Tournament playing in games at the Mohegan Sun. URI's game against Oklahoma State a few years ago was the highest attended men's college basketball game ever played at Mohegan Sun (exceeded 7k). It far surpassed the crowds for other HOF games there (invcluding Kentucky) along with games involving UMass and the CT-6 teams. While the Sun would love to be able to host UConn, the next best draw for them might be URI given the short drive from campus. It will be interesting to see what type of crowd shows up for the URI-Ohio State game. Danny Hurley has cleaned house at URI and the team will be hardpressed just to put bodies on the floor. I expect a very tough season ahead (UVM could very well get a win along with its check for playing in Kingston) for Rhode Island with good times returning in year 2 and 3 when several transfers and new recruits will be suiting up. Will URI fans show up for a less than mediocre team? We shall see. The draw of a game against a big name like Ohio State and the novelty of it being at the casino might help. My guess would be a bigger crowd than past Sun HOF games but less than the crowd for URI-Oklahoma State. |

Some schools that wanted to play SBU but would only do so at home included Wagner and Lehigh. Northeastern owes SBU a home game from the bracket buster but didnt want it this year. That in itself seems dumb too. NU has a great backcourt coming back and the sting of losing to SBU last year combined with SBU's youth pointed to this being a good time to play. Im sure the arena situation plays into it - SBU definitely had an advantage at home playing in front of standing room only crowds last year. (I know - I know - the obvious counterpoint is it was only 1000 people - but its your job to point that out - not mine) |

When NU played the BracketBuster, it was agreed at that time to play the return in 13-14, as most Bracketbuster return games were structured. And, the way the Buster works, the team that gets the return has to send a contract to the visiting team within a short period of time for the return. I don't think the dates SBU wanted in 12-13 worked with NU's schedule because of (a) NU's early final exam schedule, (b) our trip to Alaska, (c) pre-existing contractual games we had [NU had BU locked on November 9, UVM Locked on November 17, and we leave for Alaska and play Nove 21-24, and (d) at the time the CAA required our teams to hold one weekend in December for games (December 8/9).

Re: 2012-13 OOC Schedules
Per my understanding of the HOF Tournament, Albany as a designated non home participant will only play two of those three teams on their home court. Albany will play the other two tournament games against the pod of Norfolk State, Loyola-MD, and Missouri-KC at Mohegan Sun.

Re: 2012-13 OOC Schedules
Doesn't look like we are playing Albany this season, but 3 AE teams (all on the road) this year, plus CCSU's first ever visits to the Dome and Assembly Hall.
Tentative CCSU 2012-13 Schedule vs. Fairfield (CT-6 @ Hartford) vs. Northeastern vs. St. Peter's vs. Brown at Syracuse at Indiana at LaSalle at Hartford at UMBC at New Hampshire at St. Peter's |

Re: 2012-13 OOC Schedules
Should be solid, but very young. Backcourt is phenomenal with returning Sophmores Vinales and McMillan. Lots of questions up front, as we need replace the scoring from Ptacek on the wing and Horton in the middle.
