Looks like it was changed August 16th, now a 15 against #2 UNC in Philadelphia.

Harrison Taggart's twitter seems to indicate he's also on campus (and I think rooming with Troy Davine, IIRC). But neither of them is listed on the roster yet.

Hope we have a bunch of players this year who are happy to be at UVM..

OT, UVM was a madhouse on Friday - freshman moving-in day. (Sophomores and up move in today.) The concept of "packing light" remains obstinately foreign to my daughter. Thank goodness it's only once a year.

Anyone know about UVM practice schedules and which ones are "open"?

No surprise, but UVM officially named Crenca and Apfeld captains today for 2012-13. Great choices, well deserved and congrats to both players. Both appear to have terrific leadership qualities.

Blue & Taggart announced:

Roster:

Man, after the North Carolina game I thought we'd be losing Glass/Bergmann and McKeaney was going to transfer. We return most of our core but this team is going to have a lot of new faces this year. Pretty excited to get the season started. October 14th can't come soon enough.

Awesome! Especially happy for Luke, can't think of a better guy for a captain.

I, too, like the choices. Can't wait until the season begins. Wasn't looking good for a while there, with a very thin roster, after the departures. Now that everyone has been announced, UVM's squad looks to be a well suited for another title run.

Crenca and Apfeld were both at the UVM men's and women's home soccer games this weekend. They both look healthy and ready to compete. It's also good to see them out there supporting the soccer teams. That's the kind of stuff captains should be doing but often goes unnoticed. If those two guys stay healthy this season Vermont really brings alot to the table. Here's who I like for the starting line-up

Carissimo
Rusin
Voelkel
Crenca
Apfeld

That's an experienced starting five with a solid bench in Rugg, Blue, Elbaum, O'Day, and Kilpatrick. I don't expect much from Davine or Taggart this season.

Looks good to me. I also wouldn't be surprised to see O'Day move into the starting lineup at some point in the season. The best thing about the 5 bench guys listed above is they are all expected to see quality minutes, with two already experiencing quality minutes.

Yeah, this team is going to be deep. And it looks like there will be a lot of different combinations coach Becker can put on the floor. Small, fast, big etc. Go Catamounts. Can't wait

This seems to be the foundation of our system, the last several years. Using 8 guys pretty regularly, keeping starter minutes relatively manageable. Keeping the offense balanced - scoring from 3-5 different players on any given night and trying to manage the pace of play for our benefit.

It's been a pretty good formula so far...

Can't wait for the Green and Gold tipoff.

Re: 2012-2013 Vermont Catamount Thread!

Someone tweeted a story about Ethan O'day with some video attached - It was, I think the first video I've seen of Ethan. He was wearing #22. That immediately got me wondering if UVM would allow him to wear 22 when he gets here. (Taylor Coppenwrath was 22)A quick check of the UVM roster has him wearing #32. Just an intersting observation, I guess...

Also, of note, UVM newcomer, Trey Blue will be wearing #4.
