You are kidding. We are starting the NCAA baseball tournament. Where SBU ranks amoung tournament teams is completely relevant now. If you don't like other opinions, you should stay on the SBU board if there is one. To me the 16 best teams should have #1 seeds in the tournament and be ranked 1-16 in ANY poll. The 2 seeds should be teams 17-32. Obviously there is some room for debate over who the best 16 or 32 teams are, but when a team far removed from that criteria gets a #1 or #2 seed there is going to be outrage and when a team far removed from that criteria is put in that spot in the poll over a more deserving that poll loses value. BTW, SBU spot in the poll kept ZERO teams out of the field and it knocked 0 of the top 32 teams out of the number 1 and 2 seeds. So who really should I be "offering condolences" to.

http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/...a-field-of-64/ " Afore-mentioned East Carolina had no business getting a No. 2 seed. We had ECU as the final team in the field in our final projection, and Wake Forest deserves to be in the field over the Pirates, too. ECU played very poorly down the stretch, losing three of its final four series (including a sweep at Southern Miss to end the season) and going 1-2 in the Conference USA tournament. The Pirates were just 3-8 against the top 25 and 5-10 against the top 50, and they lost their series against four of the five teams that finished ahead of them in the standings. East Carolina getting an at-large team is defensible, but not at Wake's expense, and not as a No. 2. The committee clearly leaned heavily upon the RPI this year—the Pirates rank 32nd in that measure." |

Are not the top 30 baseball teams the 1 and 2 seeds in the tournament. If not, why not ![]() I said SBU should not be in the poll because they are not one of the best 30 teams. They are 0-3 against top 100 teams and have played 42 of their 57 games against teams ranked 200 or worse. It is a minor issue that a legitimate team was not recognized in a poll, but you keep worrying about that while the real top 32 teams with the 1 and 2 seeds try to play to advance in the NCAA tourney. ![]() Bougus poll results like this is why I am glad this gets decided on the field and this is why polls are not taken seriously. After the talk of a "snub" rather than a choke last year and talk from this team that they deserve a better seed in spite of the fact they did not go out any beat any quality (top 100) teams this season, let's hope this team at least shows up and is at least competitve tomorrow. It is put up or shut up time for this team as they move up in class. |

Seawolves lead 1-0 on a double and follow-up bunt as the pitcher throws the ball away. Being aggresive! Go Seawolves
