Re: OT Baseball
Bryant won the NEC regular season crown, but is inelligible for the NCAAs (last year of their D-I transition).
NEC tourney starts this Thursday at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Conn. #1 - Monmouth #2 - Sacred Heart #3 - Central Conn. St. #4 - Fairleigh Dickinson http://northeastconference.org/sport...?path=baseball |

Re: OT Baseball
Looks like the Stony Brook at Maine series has been rendered totally meaningless. SB has clinched the AE regular season title with a sweep of UMBC. Even if Albany sweeps Hartford and SB loses all four to Maine the teams would end up with the same records. Im assuming that SB crushing Albany to take 3 of 4 gives the Seawolves the tie breaker. This years SB team is probably the best ever in the AE.

Re: OT Baseball
Its looking like another possible 40 win season for SBU. This time around they gotta finish the job and get into the NCAA. Nothing is a given in the AE tournament. Go Seawolves

Re: OT Baseball
The AE gets a rep on the 10-member NCAA Selection Committee. Current Binghamton administrator (and former Albany center-fielder) Ed Scott
An interesting Q&A with him here that touches on some of the topics discussed in this thread. |

Re: OT Baseball
Stony Brook Sweeps Maine and ends the regular season with a record 43-11 season. Hoping for the best in the tournament. Lets go Seawolves

![]() ![]() ![]() I predict that Stony Brook WOULD get an at-large berth this season.........but I don't think that they will even need to worry about that scenario. Think about this folks..........a Northeast program with 80+ wins over 2 seasons. Amazing. |

Some fun facts about SBU baseball: 1) We have 3 batters who are hitting ABOVE .380 (Tissenbaum, Jankowski, Carmona). The latter two are hitting .390 2) Jankowski was just projected as a borderline MLB first round pick 3) Jankowski was also tagged as MVP of the Cape Cod League, the #1 summer league 3) Our only two series losses all season were to East Carolina (#24 pseudorpi), and Holy Cross (#134) 4) Stony Brook's pseudoRPI is 101. The next closest AEC team is Binghamton at 213 Though our season is just as likely to end as everyone else's in that damn tournament, haha Last edited by Redwyn; 05-20-2012 at 09:45 AM. |

Re: OT Baseball
This is very, very true. It would seriously depend on the fares of the teams ahead of them. I know we were one place off of last week's poll in two of the three...but you're absolutely correct.

Re: OT Baseball
Would it help at all that Maine was an NCAA team last year and has had multiple trips to the NCAA. Does the poll voters take this into consideration or not?

I don't see a resume that is better than 35 non conference champs. (in other words the at large pool) Not only did they lose the series you mentioned, but they did not win any games against those teams. Unless I missed it I also see no wins against top 100 teams with splits against the known teams form 100-200 like Kansas and Minnesota . I used the RPI on the NCAA site last updated 5/15 so it is possible it changed. |

Re: OT Baseball
Wow! Maybe a move is what SB needs. How pissy and pathetic some of you are. You dont have to blow out SB's candle to make yours burn brighter. Any and every chance to put SB down because your program isn't as good. Bob - your post is pathetic. Keep focusing on any negative you can find to justify why SB sucks in your mind. PATHETIC!

#30 in the country by National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (#1 team in Northeast, #2 team north of the Mason-Dixon line, under Purdue) ARV in Coaches poll, ahead of such minor baseball powers as...Pepperdine, UNC-Wilmington, Tulane, and Vanderbilt. #24 in Mid-Major poll, ahead of Stetson, Michigan St., and Army. I don't know what to think - lots of disparate opinions...but I'll just settle and say that we're likely pretty good. |
