I thought Hartfords freshman were absolutly great as the season progessed and I expect much more improvement from them as sophmores and therefor look for the Hawks to be major players in the league race next year. I also think that Coach John Gallagher is one of the best young coaches on the east coast. He can recruit, motivate, teach and win! Can we please have him at Maine? |

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions
Let's not get carried away. Great is a strong word. Four McGywnn was great. Hartford's guys were ok. Still werent close against the "big 4" last year. Hartford will get better this off season but lets hold off with "major players" talk. Vermont still brings back everyone and a good recruiting class, Albany brings back everyone, BU brings back everyone except partin and a good recruiting class, SBU brings back Tommy Brenton along with Dave coley and a good recruiting class.

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions
Way too early to tell- I don't think there is a team in the conference that knows what their final roster is looking like- maybe Stony Brook does?
Someone should make a thread for incoming players and departures. I'll do Vermont as of today: Vermont Departures: Matt Glass (graduation), Pat Bergmann (graduation), Brendan Bald (academics), Ryan McKeaney (transfer), Chris Santo (transfer) Vermont Incoming Players: Candon Rusin (transfer), Ethan O'Day (freshman), Brendan Kilpatrick (freshman)

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions
BU is going to have the most interesting newcomers IMO:
First, they get Jake O'Brien back which I think some people are forgetting. Second, they have four frosh coming in: Maurice Watson, John Papale, Nathan Dieudonne, and Justin Alston. Everyone knows about Watson but the kid from Kentucky looks really intriguing. BU also has two scholarships available with Terry and Piotrowski leaving.....

Definitely sandbagging Union Endicott HS with this one. They could surprise this season. I hear all of their players have actually hit puberty and 3 of their starters had a growth spurt!

Re: 2012-2013 AE Predictions
UMBC:
Departing: Jake Wasco Incoming: Brett Roseboro (6'10" transfer), Aaron Morgan (5'10" PG, freshman), Malik Garner (6'5" G/F, freshman) Returning: Everyone else I'm cautiously optimistic about Morgan starting at PG this year. All the video I have seen of him reminds me of De La Rosa going to the hoop but with what seems like a better shot. I keep getting told that Garner is going to surprise in how good he is and how under the radar he was ... But to me, Roseboro is the key ... If he's as good as Justin Fry or Cavell Johnson then I think you could see Plummer have a Daryl Proctor-like season of 20/10 next year. Our goal should be 12 wins for next year. If we hit that we're back on the right track again. Losing Thomas hurts our front court depth as that means more time for Satchell who has forgotten how to play basketball

Roseboro was a one time Marquette commit and then had a tough time at St. Bonaventure. If he's ready to go and give it one last shot, even 25% of what he used to be is good enough as a big man in the AE.
